from the back of a bike -
old folks taking the young
to fish in the river
in the bright July sun
hell, round here even the
horse with no name goes
fishin' in the river
people gathering in town from all over
big thing called "Harborfest"
goes on for four days
add lots of alcohol
and they call it a "good time"
i just ride thru
but mostly stay away -
and i had something to say
about the road
came to me earlier today
but i can't remember it now
it was straight & simple
but it's gone now
probably just as well
it had me existentializing
and hypothesizing
like i said

( the notion was spontaneous but ok i cheated some working out the rhymes - first three lines completely spontaneous - after that rhymes helped me find the rest )

Honolulu? hah! streets in Honolulu

think i'll just bike down to Ridge Road
hang a right follow that over to the super two line and head for town
had a magic moment the other night
that i been after for awhile
out on a night run and
finally caught the switching train going thru the crossing
gates came down lights flashed bells went off & everything
the engines rolled right on past
and it wasn't a VIDEO on youtube!
watched those lights disappear
with the moon over my shoulder
i just stood there looking & said yeah
