Jam for Doreen

I just "spoke" with Doreen, who's undergoing treatment for her heart condition, and sounds to be doing as well as expected. As many of us can attest, the sudden appearance of a life-threatening event is a frightening one. I'd like to propose a jam session to let her know we're thinking of her and wishing her a safe return to this home she's created for us.

Subj: your unscheduled absence
Dear Ms Peri
It has come to our attention
that you have taken
an unscheduled leave of absence
on medical grounds...
We must remind you
Ms Peri
that according to Company policy
(see pg 437, sec. 23B, para 87, of the employee handbook)
you are required to produce written documentation from your physician
with all salient details of your condition
said document to be
notarized
approved by Legal
and countersigned by at least three members
of the management team
and that failure to do so
carries with it consequences
calling for disciplinary action
up to and possibly including
dismissal...
But it is HR's opinion that
in light of your exemplary service to the Company
In light of your status as its founding member
In light of your ebullience
your generosity of spirit
your joie de vivre
your unmistakeably unique voice
that perhaps in your case
an exception can be made...
so...
get well, dear lady
come home
we miss you
and look forward to your return.
