i want us to learn
i would like us to understand
too many people
too much destruction
too little comprehension
i want our minds to see
it can be different
if we are different

drop by drop
til there is a waterfall
of cascading new thinking
we have to have hope
we need to reach for stars
that seem out of reach
change a mind, just one
let it snowball
into an avalanche of bold ideas
c'mon 2012, we are counting on you

Dear 2021 -
please grant sanity to those
who thought that a nation
could be run like a corrupt business...

please bring awareness to those
unable to grasp the notion
that not wearing a mask
is no different
than shitting in a public water supply...

please show the right-wing
that maybe law enforcement's budget
should include more skilled negotiators and clinical psychologists
than tactical gear and assault vehicles...

please bring us quiet...
no one can think clearly
with all that noise....
 

with thought comes energy
collective dreaming can bring a change in action
together we're capable
each in our zone of influence
in our room or road
in our writings and words
nourished by one another

so lets us spread out little
include voices other than the S8 truehearts
so that we may grow our minds and flourish
