hiked in the frozen marsh yesterday
with my daughter, bundled up
the day was sunny, cool, crisp light
peaceful as can be
mostly small birds flitted about the trees
and bushes, and reflections striped
the landscape like penciled in lines,
a winter selection from a sketchbook
and the quiet was just what I needed,
no traffic, no nothing but the occasional
tweet, tweet, tweet
and I'm NOT talking about twitter

puddles and mud and sand
rain on helmet

avoiding sneezing

live above masks
i wander between

evolution is a tricky thing
it can go sideways at times
great medical advances and a burgeoning segment
that prefers spectacle to science
we are modernized
but will that help us as illness runs down the field
and when the naysayers spike the ball
it seems we aren't in this together
No, far from it........there are 2 major camps
the ones that are scared shitless by immigrants, gays, and science
and the side saying c'mon, be reasonable
dying isn't a good strategy just to prove a point
winning doesn't necessarily mean you are better than me
i don't know, I guess all civilizations are tested at some point
to see if they are worthy of continuing as a species
endless wars......arms dealers ecstatic.....billionaires galore
when so many are suffering...oh listen to me
high up on my tippie-toes of the soapbox
well this a good a place to vent as anywhere
love for each other seems to be getting rarer,
folks are under extreme pressure, and I hope our innate goodness shines thru
at some point ,and we help others get by, and sacrifice and caring
become our marching orders, and loves wins out
runs wild across the planet.....why not ?

Another Steve, Steve Cutts
animations of mankind at its worst
what's a pandemic, say we
We'll show them who we are
We'll murder all living things
destroy all natural resources
in short: trash the planet
why?
because we can!
oh me, oh my, omeecron!

it used to take some effort
to haul a soap box out to the green
to climb up and start shouting
for the attention of a few curious passers-by
who after a few seconds of lunacy
could shake their heads and walk away...
how times have changed
the lunatic fringe can now address
not a few dozen
not a hundred
not even thousands -
but a million like-minded dolts
willing to believe anything they see on their phones
as long as it reinforces
already held convictions
and as long as it's easy
(no critical thought required)...
zuckerberg et al
through the miracle of modern technology
have given them the keys
to the asylum

slam jam
lord help me wireman i know who i am
theories are tricky
life goes on with or without us
and I am waiting around to die
in the meantime civilization is threatened again
how does the song go?
in knowledge there is much sorrow :?: (Prov. 3:13).

THEY tinker with the mass mind Freud a Cassandra
in the meantime I take care coz things are different every time the wheel goes round

That was the novelty: the right not to be right, not to be reasonable: "the reason of unreason."THE RULE OF THE MASS MIND;— Chapter 8, "

shaking the cobwebs loose
coffee and long shower
each day is a huge surprise
how will I feel, what will I do
perhaps I will be mostly idle
this too is a well kept secret
among those that treasure quiet
contemplation
please don't insist that I be productive
in your capitalist way
I am producing beautiful thoughts,
my imagination is running wild
like a canyon stallion which cannot
be roped or ridden
allow me to gallop through nothing at all
let me trample the stale air of yesterday
let me breathe the oxygen of here and now
please please please, don't push me
and I will in turn will pay you no mind
as you run around like a headless chicken

For all the children of the headless, heedless, brainless is why I write.
to be a friend to the world
friendship and deadpan humour
only things that keeps me from death by ennui
and on top of all else that is wrong with the world mingo took his thumb off the key
