Love Poetry

Post by Doreen Peri » December 7th, 2005, 12:14 am

Verses are stars,
meteors, continuous
touch of a universal
reach, images which teach
us to be present once more,

A gift packaged to be unwrapped
like when his lashes opened
and I saw a tear had rested
on the corner duct;

Such are love lyrics.
Delicious. Pure, salted,
tasted on a tongue –

Memorabilia of young
planets, each syllable,
an orb.

The variance of meter.
The persuasion of a tune.
Love poetry visits at noon
the day after it vanishes
from the page.

They
will
stop
killing
each other
when they
realize they
are each other.

I trust it's not tomorrow yet
the helium bonds
the fractured runways

my memoralabia is beyond remembrance

my valence is the value of separate beds

my tears are crusted like brine

flesh is the answer
flesh is the answer
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

The Poet's Eye

A fleshy pomegranate
is bitter to tastebuds when
the fruit is not stripped
properly, one narrow ilk
silk-skinned slipped off a
rigid fuit; beneath, the
succulence, the flavor;
abundant navigation.

Helium can make your voice
higher than the height of your
heart if you suck it in, then blow
it out but when you try to control
the balloon, it flies backwards
into corners.

Let feed pomagranates peeled
delicately bite by bite, while
a colorful array of the inflatable
are stuck with friction on walls,
floors, ceilings, valence, fears.

Eyelids droop.
I search for the decorator,
the music, the array, the slices
of honeydew, cantaloupe, cherries
spread for tasting!

Balloons of love!
Ornamental seduction!
Mmmmmmmmm.....

love blossoms
in winter
when artists paint cherry blossoms on the limbs of sleeping trees
Love blooms so slowly for the aged
Love is a whisper
love is a stillness in the presence
Love is a vortex
Love is a dance
A accidental touch of her hair against my hand
A scent from her eyes
Love is a smile
Love is far from me
But I have an excellent memory

All fesh is grass
waiting for the spark of love
that consumes it like a prairie fire.

love is all there is
free rice

tinkerjack: "a scent from her eyes" - that was a goregous line to read this morning.

love has always been a possible purple cloud to me
distant on a horizon and sinking further
i knew it was purple and i knew it was a cloud
but smell and feel and taste and witness...?

so many people write or sing or paint or sculpt love
and even now there is no Universal Definition
to suit the poet of "what is love?"

love could be "a scent from her eyes"
and I do ascend, wrapped in her scent

she sent me a sculpture par avion
an abstract sculptured embrace
it broke into three pieces in transit -
a fractured embrace

love at a distance is a fractured embrace
the beaty to the decay

tinkerjack: "when artists paint cherry blossoms on the limbs of sleeping trees" - what a great image to put in someone's head.

I don't even remember writing it bennie2 (you forgot your password?)

I googled it because I thought maybe I had ripped it off.

Sorry about the sock puppet. tinkerjack was a guy I thought of one time when I was hitting on Hester. Have you ever heard her sing? She is a "torcher" . She had four songs posted here but they got deleted. I am still bummed.

Sure is good to read you here again.

thank you for the flowers and the pretty reply

sorry bennie
my multiple user names were annoying a lot of people on litkicks.
I hope you are not annoyed.

Still the crazy old trucker
and I can't punctuate any better.
