Eternal Spring

Unfolding farces hold
temporary sway
feign false day
play true night.

For but spans we meet
only to fleet
on time's eraser board,
spaces division.

And love, ah, yes,
such a word. A
mutual convenience
of seasonal time.

Streams of caring dissipate
in deserts of indifference.
Vows, as setting moon
take wanton absence.

And so it was, act 4
or 84, no difference
really, same plots,
different props.

Vastness calls, "Slip away.
Wake from the dream. Rouse
yourself!" Half closed eyes stir
see far more distant.

Not of this world -
but only in it. Fools
role rejected!
No flock followed, no blind.
Responsibility's mine alone.

And yet new Spring comes.

Lenny, you posted this in "Jam Session" which is a forum for planned Word Jams.

I'm going to move the post to GO! which is a forum for on-going anytime Word Jams.

Lovely thoughts!

Sorry, Doreen. Typical for me though. lol. Be well and thanks for letting me know. Maybe I need to study exactly what 'word jam' means.

Love/Peace,

lenny

word jams are poetry jams with boundaries tied on

this week's jam is an image-ination jam, with an image leading each jam thread.

~Go is for a poetic post that hopes for poetic responses ...

and hope is always good for go

Not of this world -
but only in it....
Yes lenny it is a pretty thought
Speaking for myself
I am in it and of it
I am not an atheist yet
but I still believe this is it.

Live in hope and die in despair
or is it live in despair and die in hope

The only thing that keeps me going
The only sparkle of hope I see
Is the young
We are a generation of vipers
We eat the children

Eternal spring or eternal winter
does it matter?
I like to see the seasons change
There is a season

nice work lenny, just a black mood tonight, probabley blood sugar

thanks

good to see ya back

I hope you did all right with the taxes.

I was a day late myself

I spent a lot of time on the phone with the irs, they played a lot of violin musci while I waited, it was very nice.

I love the spring lenny
I am of an age that makes me so grateful that I have seen another one.

My hopes hopes rise, I feel so alive in the spring
Eternal spring is a beautiful thought
just sour grapes on my part
spring has come and gone here
Summer time blues is the rules

I wish I could fly away to South America for the fall this summer.
Summertime
(sweet summertime)
And the living is easy

the only thing that keeps me going is the hope of home grown tomatoes and Georgia Peaches.

Hey Still Truckin Brother, perhaps the problem is not so much the passing of Spring, Summer, maybe some of Autumn and the coming of the winter of life, but this?

Strangers

We walk our paths, play our roles,
sometimes touching, making contact
with each other, with ourselves,
but mostly not.

And swept along in time's tide
we grasp for something solid, lasting,
but youth fades, strength wanes, beauty flees,
familiars pass, and we are left
alone
with ourself,
the stranger we passed in the night,
never took the time to know.

Mirrors return our empty gazes.
Hollow eyes stare blankly
into the emptiness
of their own reflection,
yearning, straining to recognize
something, anything
of immutable worth.

How, where, when, how
did it come to this?

Please don't take this wrong because it is meant with no ill intent or accusation. It's just that I see so many unhappy people in what should be their golden years see them as grey years. I will be 57 in July. After 35 years of meditation I have learned that the internal essence, the real us, is ageless and ever joyous. When our car wears out we do not lament it but get another one. So it is with us. The body drops off like ripe fruit from the tree of life when it's' time, but the seed inside that fruit is reborn next spring. Be happy! Be fearless! Rejoice at the wonder of it all! Turn grey to gold. It is never to late.

Love in your heart and peace in your head,

lenny
