Jacob's Ladder Jam

Post by stilltrucking » July 30th, 2006, 10:49 am

I am climbing
with a friendly hand
from my brothers and sisters
virtual silicon pals
you can do a lot with tricks of the light
and an obstructed view
of a world of hurt
the ladder never ends
"the road goes on forever"
And I am
"a wheel rolling free out of its own center"

ecce homo

"You can die from the cold, in the arms of a nightmare, knowing well your best days are gone."

"gimmee back my bullets
not wasting time no more"

spinning out?
ease off the throttle
or you might find yourself
sliding backwards down an icy mountain road

I got to spin
counter clockwise
in this clockwise world
live myself forward understand backwards

I am still me
I only see myself better
dancing the existential strip tease
making myself clear as a window pane
If you can see right through me I know I am ok

sisters and brothers
my Windex.

I see through
a quicksand veil
&
beg the limits
back
from tempting
edges

I am a marginal man
Out on the fringes
Dancing on the edge

Working without a net
jitterbug keyboarding
leaving the tracks of my words
on virgin snow

Port La Vaca about two hours away. One day I will see the ocean again.

My eyes weary of concrete, asphault, electric lights, signs, telephone poles,

What is worth searching for?

I search for darkness and starlight
for a sunset on a far horizon
to see the moon rise out of the ocean

The Pyramid in Ocean City Maryland
Twenty one stories
I worked on the construction crew.
From the roof looking out over the Atlantic
Wave after wave
So far into the distance
On a clear day
I could see eternity
That view etched on the back of my eyeballs.

I am a fish out of water
gulping for air in suburbia
But like the man said
the search begins closer to home
within
I got to find it within to see it without
If not here
then it is nowhere

I search for the holy grail of my existence
To live my own life.
Not yours, Christ's, Buddha's or Madison avenue
What chance is there of being true to oneself in this world of hucksters
and hidden persuaders?

laughing at the hucksters
ever warry of the strong persuders
watching the kids deal on the street
hearing the dogs bark in the alley
the birds sing in the kitchen
there's a cyber hum that pervades the air
tinkling of wind chimes
the manta ray flew beneath me
while i was driving pilings
on a north carolina pier
for the army corps of engineers
and on this day i read a "writer" named ST
my quotes!
