sad songs have leaked in
causing a flood of fears.
don't know how to turn them off.

what can be done?

anyone have the instructions?
anyone know how to read them?

my window opened
on a morning's whim
and whoosh
a flood of fear
swept by my blinds
into my heart

fear latched onto fear
and i, caught like a thought on a bender,
joined mind to mind,
at the speed of light
terror laughed and painted my eyes
i saw black and hell and all that's hovering

barely able to write on white
i see black
as fear latches onto fear

sometimes fear is all I have going
And it leads me besides still waters

I have been frozen with terror
and as I sat there
someone took the wheel
and steered me out of it

We all have a hero
waiting patiently
should we ever need help

But when it comes to worry
we are on our own

a 1:30 am call came
last night, carl had died
it was just 6 weeks since
i'd seen him at hospital
in baltimore and i then knew
his time was near
good friends are few
in this life, i'm glad i
went and saw him
while he was still alive......

reminds me of how
i got over my own fear
of elevators

12 floors up
that hospital smell

you know what i mean

complete paranoia sets in
short of breath
danger
cannot take this
pounding
chest
pain

fright

and my brother in law
dying
