there it is
family and friends
the reason for the season
a celebration
good times good food
candles and lights
and cookies

"I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life"

I miss the myth too
Kate Smith singing God Bless North America
and a cotton flag with forty eight stars
when all the evil in the world was overseas somewhere

Maybe next year in Washington DC

I think these holidays would be a good time to fast in honour of those who have no food.

I think the holidays are a good time to honor the hungry by feeding them.
I am going to take your advice and make a donation to the food bank.

I could stand to fast myself
Not sure it would honor anyone
Just do it for myself.

I need to go on an Internet fast.

yes, internet fast.
that's starting to sound better all the time.
man, the keyboard is addicting.

snow is almost gone now.
white christmas was overrated.
same as the non-white type.
but it's probably the last one
with the whole family together.
mom is such a beautiful soul,
and she is really struggling.
it's almost too much to bear
sometimes.
i haven't been myself.
i'm struggling too.
i try to escape sometimes
but it will take love
to live through.
no other way.

Ha! "Internet fast"...
not very likely, I'd say.
Daylight growing now.
Daylight growing
slowly, at least.
That's more like it,
what I should keep in mind.
More light and warmth...
eventually.

eventually
peace will break out
the guns will go silent

always a calm after the storm
a truce after the war
a hangover after the party

keyboard addiction yes
but also an illusion
of motion
of movement
through cyberspace

I guess its close enuf,

My new years resolutions, 2008.

I resolve to see what is
not what I want it to be.

I resolve to think before I speak

I resolve to speak out on injustice
no matter the consequences.

I resolve to trust my gut
because its never steered me wrong.

I resolve to seek the truth

I resolve to learn

I resolve to love

Gonna be one hell of a year!
Happy New Year Everyone!
