The Fireplace/Dumpster forum was never intended to be a board for childish belittling and name-calling.

It is meant, simply, to be a holding place for posts which have no place on this board.

Studio Eight has only one rule. It is a rule of decent behavior. Respect each other.

As the name implies, Dumpster means eventually the trash gets emptied.

Posts posted elsewhere on this board which are blatant name-calling will be moved to the Fireplace/Dumpster.

Duke it out here if you want, but be aware that your fights will be short-lived as verbal abuse and fighting is not the type of content I intend to publish.

Be aware that periodically, the Fireplace/Dumpster board will be cleaned out.

All the threads will be deleted.

The goal will be to eliminate the need for such a board, entirely.

Hey Doreen....I like the idea of dumping this stuff at intervals....it's a great solution. I know it offends you. I know it's juvenile, but,
I have to confess that I get alot of laughs out of these posts in here, I mean heck, nasty as it is, it's creative in a way. However, it does go too far I think when it gets to this point:

"Pfffttt...yr nothing and ya got nothing-yr a flopperoo...So it's time to head to the shabby motel room...sit on the dirty bed...take off your big red nose, wig and clown shoes...break down and sob (wah wah wah)..call 911--then put gun in mouth...it wont hurt anymore--no one will ever be able to hurt you again...it will be all better someplace else for you...face it.."

shit like that ain't funny. I find it pretty disturbing, not to mention disturbed.

Heh heh. Took some courage to read through something like that --I wouldn't call it "writing"; it's more akin to hearing a tape of an insane criminal off his meds. If it says SkoopaTrash, don't bother reading it, unless you care for poorly-written examples of okie psychopathology.

maybe I've made a wrong decision.

All I know is, it may be amusing to some, but it's not amusing to me in the least and I figure if people find this kinda thing entertaining, there HAS to be other websites out there that not only want to host such garbage-talk, but encourage it.

Perhaps hits is what they're looking for and there are people who enjoy such bullshit but I don't enjoy it and I don't think it belongs on a site which has a purpose of discussing and creating art.

This isn't art.

I'm not too hip at having "doreen peri, baglady, slut" and other choice garbage words pop up on google, either, and boom, guess what, someone hits it and where are they? doreen peri's website! Geesh! What's that say about me?

The "shoot yourself in the mouth" talk is not a good thing to have here. None of it is. The "I'm your daddy, bend over" just doesn't fit with my idea of art.

Not only that, this website has a 13 or older registration and ya know what? I've got a 12-year-old girl. Maybe next year she'd want to register here and post her poetry. Do you think I want my 12-year-old daughter reading this crap?

Just wait 'til she goes online and sends her friends emails with a link and says... "Hey look at THIS! This is my mom's website! My mom is doreen peri and she set this up"... real proud of me and all that and her friends then hit on all this garbage-talk. What then?

What will the parent's of my daughter's friends think about all this?

I don't know but this is not only about me. This is about way more than that. It's about all the 13-year-olds who can register here.

It's MOSTLY about what I want to host on this site and this is NOT it. The threads which have been in this forum are not even creative. IF they had some iota of creative writing in them, maybe I'd be questioning my decisions even more.

I'm just being honest.

I can't help being honest. I don't like this kind of talk. I don't find it entertaining and I'm positive there are many many many other sites on the net where people can go to watch this type of banter and/or participate in it.

And ya know what? I think the several people who have told me, "Sorry, doreen, I don't want to post there any more. I'm not comfortable," all because of these types of threads plus getting attacked themselves verbally, well, ya know what?

I think they were being honest, too.

Not all people are the same. Some people are more easily upset than other people. Everybody handles things differently. People have different tastes and what some people find offensive, others don't.

I'm not offended by any of it. It's just trashtalk and you can thank LR for this forum because I never wanted a flames board on my site at all... ever.

That's all I have to say for now.

I have to announce tomorrow's jam. I have work to do. And I also want to do something creative like write a poem tonight and practice a song I'm putting together on the piano.

I know your post is meant to be humorous, Scoot, but I sorta feel like my comments were totally passed by.

I think a flames board CAN be OK here if people have legitimate complaints and want to debate each other, but not like it's been going.

Oh well. We'll just see how things go.

Strong language Herr Professor, I almost thought I understood it before I Babel fished it. I was close, I thought it meant "lie in the earth" which was the strongest curse I ever heard my bubby use. Mostly in reference to Herr Hitler

the recumbence to Yiddish, or more correctly I should say that Yiddish sounds so much like German, as my German Instructor kept telling me it is a "corrupt" form of German. I suppose that is why I failed German I five
times. . Flames due look hotter in German, such a emphatic language.
Too bad you couldn't use Gothic fonts.
