On an Easter Evening in 1998

ON AN EASTER EVENING IN 1998
By Steve Plonk

On an Easter evening the sun left
Reflections on the wall of the dome
At the airport where I wait for the next flight
To come in with a flourish
Young children come with their Easter clothes
To meet Grandparents and Folks
An endless parade of seemingly happy people
Glad to see each other—
Hugging and back-slapping and kissing—
Easter joy is bringing people together in a
Small way as I do my job at the airport
On a balmy Easter evening
As curious purple martins fly and crows
Squawk and land on telephone poles.

You took me "there/then." Thanks.

Peace,

Glad you traveled back with me. Those were the days...
Prior to 9-11, airports were a more user friendly place.
You're welcome.
