I noticed that......

Post by Traveller13 » June 2nd, 2005, 6:27 am

When I tie my shoelaces in a street, I usually look behind me to check that nobody runs into me.

When I see a flock of birds, I never know which one to look at.

When someone apologises to me, I automatically say "no problem".

When there's a clear blue sky outside, the first thing I do when I go out is to look upwards.

When I frown at something, my head tends to slightly tilt sideways.

When I spot someone whose hair is tied up, I have the reflex of looking at the elastic band.

When I'm in bed on a warm night, I like to turn over the pillow from time to time, because the other side is cooler.

When I see contemporary art or modern architecture, I get a weird tingly feeling in my chest.

When I see colored electric wires or components, part of me compares them to candies.

Just a bunch of random noticings...

It looks like I'm a very "visual" person.

lol
excellent photo

It's strange, quite a few of my posts get zeros here.
I was a bit annoyed about it at first, but then again it's only fair, I don't go online as much as I used to and I don't really give myself the time to read everyone else's posts.

The cloud gallery is awesome!

interesting...

is that a washed up word?

yeah. I think so.

it's lying out on the beach right now. I can see it, baking and rotting in the sun.

Anyway, yeah.

At this other place I post at, the Arcanum Cafe, I think people are starting to cool off on some of my threads, where they were replying like mad to them before. not sure if it's me or the world. *shrug* Like you, I was a bit put out at first, when I started to notice that happening but now I'm all like...eh, whatever's clever. several people have claimed that I'm too vague in my presentation of things. sometimes I am. but not always. And really, I'd say that the prob has more to do with me posting in scattered format. now that is something that I definetely have issues with. But it's all good.

well, now that I've rambled on about that...

you're list of noticeables calls me into awareness. And for that, I'm grateful.

I've noticed that....

I get a happy happy buzz when playing piano. It's my drug of choice.

every time I here the song "It's a Wonderful World" I think of lemons

I eat pie in order and seperation, starting with the insides first, moving on to the bottom crust, and finishing off with the top crust. This is something that I've only started doing within the last few months

I love mosquito bites because I LOVE to itch them. I'm addicted to the feeling of the bite being itched! Been that way ever since I was a kid. I used to lie about it though and agree with my friends that not only did mosquitoes suck ass, but mosquito bites really sucked ass too.

I say "right on" a whole lot, thanx to Drew

even though I'm 5 ft tall, I don't "feel" shorter than people who are taller than me (which is almost always everyone around me). Maybe it's because I'm fairly outgoing.

I can't stand touching wool or fleece blankets if my hands are sweaty or the outside temp is over 60 something degrees...makes me want to gag and gives me this icky icky feeling inside

and now that I've rambled on about that...

The Cloud Appreciation Society...ha! who would've thought!
Everything is surreal and i'm still not sure which decision I'll make.

when I sneeze, I close my eyes.

after I've eaten or drank something tasty, I like to rub my gums and inner mouth with the tip of my tongue, to appreciate whatever savor's left.

sometimes when I'm relaxed, I like to stop my breathing for a bit, and it triggers a state of well-being.

when I'm in a car going very fast, I like to stick a hand or forearm out the window, to feel the air flowing against my skin.

when my head is immersed in water, I like to listen to the constant droning sound of water against eardrums.

when I'm surprised (in a scared way) I can feel a tingling wave starting from my heart and extending itself throughout the body.

the word "earnest" makes me think of one of Gary Larson's cartoons.

==================================

I do all-over-the-place format too, that might also be part of the problem.

And yes, piano-playing can be transporting.

I'm happy my list called you into awareness, that's exactly what it was for.

It's funny, I've got poster's block. Maybe a contagious thing's spreading throughout php boards.
It's just as well, I have things to catch up with.
I think a thread could be made on mosquito bites. And the art of eating pies.

I need to figure out this train wotsit.
Have a nice day.

edit: something really weird just happened

I re-read this and my last post wasn't displayed there
so I partially rewrote it, swearing I'd already answered
my message was submitted successfully
exept that I couldn't see it
so I entered it again (had it copied&pasted somewhere safe)
and lo&behold, my answer was entered in double at the end of the thread
so I supressed the end one
and lo&behold, my original answer was just before the new one

:?

I think I need to watch dark city
gnight

I noticed that:

Rubbing my fingertips lightly on paper or wood is a pleasant sensation
I always notice if someone is right handed or left handed
That just looking at a jar of dill pickles causes lockjaw and sets the salivary glands into overdrive
If I squint fairly tightly I can change the focus of things
Early morning air in the country has a perfumed aroma
I'm O/C about brushing my teeth
Music is more enjoyable if I close my eyes
The color yellow lifts my mood
If I hold a mirror parallel to the ground pointed upwards I can walk on the sky (or the ceiling)
I can visualize images in almost anything (paint swirls, rumpled fabric, clouds, woodgrain, patterned tiles)

i make a cake from a duncan hines mix just so i can lick the spoon

i sit in a parked car when it rains and dont run the wiper blades, so i can
feel immersed in my own sorrow or happiness, depending on the state of mind i'm in

i look forward to going to the dentist when i am having major work done, only so i can get nitrious

i sleep in a king sized bed but never leave the very corner edge of the mattress

i always feed the birds if i see them, but stupidly do it by my car and then panic to drive out without running them over

i buy chocolate bars when i get a craving each day practically, but only take a bite or two and throw the rest out every day

I sit in a parked car when it's not raining and I run the wiper blades on cleaning bursts, so I can feel immersed in my own memories of rowing on College Creek in the early morning--a good set of motions through the oarloacks sounds just like the wiper blades, and I love it.

--I sleep only on either of my sides, with a pillow holding up an elbow, so I won't crush my ribs with the dead weight of my arm.

--As a child I slept on a home-made stuff dog. He had a long torso and brown ears. A fan (even in winter), both of my feet out from under the covers, so I could breathe.

--I'm a natural tanner, never been to a tanning bed. I rarely try to tan, but I can be golden if I wanted to.

--I like the mystery of lake water and what might swim under my feet. A sort of creepy feeling, but I'm fond of the little thrill in it.

--I make more coffee than I drink, in-case one of these days I might drink an extra cup.

--I'm habitual.
I drink the same drink every day. Eat the same foods daily. And I order only my favorite meal at my favorite restaurants, and I rarely steer from it to try a new, when on my ownsome, only in the company of others, so as not to be very rude.

--I generally never ask for help and I'm often over-whelmed when helped, feeling as if I'm a burden, even though I'm aware it's absurd. Then I go through the list of why I should accept help (inside my head and an argument with only myself).

--I never use ketchup, only mustard.
I don't salt, and barely even cook with it. I go pepper.

--I love plants and flowers, herbs, but I lack a green thumb.

--I need to condition my hair every day or else it's unreasonable.
And I prefer to just finger 'comb' it, brushes are too harsh on my tresses. People will say, "What do you mean you don't brush your hair?"

I think it suggests I'm a very paranoid person.

NS: How would you know that "there's a clear blue sky outside" unless you have already "looked upwards," previous to "the first thing"?

BTW, why only 'upwards' when the sky comes all the way to the ground?

I noticed that.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds. — R.D.L.

She said in her little pollyanna voice, "I can't sit down, Jasper is sitting there (Jasper is the invisible friend). The teach er said, "I said to sit down, now", then made her sit on top of Jasper's lap.

I had to look to see if Jasper would show himself to me, and to see if he was frowning from the weight of her, though at least she's still tiny and not quite growed up, yet.
