When there are no longer dreams....

Post by Doreen Peri » February 20th, 2011, 1:50 pm

When there are
no longer dreams to be dreamed,
we fall into an abyss, and seem
to disappear right out of sight,
daylight enveloped by the night!
We walk our dreams from dawn 'til dusk,
the lust of life intriguing us,
and when there are
no dreams of stars,
we lose our constellations, far
into the sky we cannot see,
a blanket, insecurity!
No star in North to follow me,
or you or her or them or he!
When darkness stares a vacant stare,
we cannot dream, we cannot dare,
and lord knows this is so unfair!
So dream, we must, but just as much
we'll make them pleasant, no nightmares
and spare our souls of grief which steals
us from the peace we surely seek,
our senses all awakened, piqued,
by dreams we must pursue to heal
each pain we suffer, all we feel!
Together as a human race,
our dreams we dream, collaborate,
and so within our dreamlike worlds
we find inside the clams, a pearl,
and treasure it, since it's a gift,
since dreams and love are like the sift
of sands between our hands at shores....
we pick them up, and then they fall
from palms we've cupped to hold them all,
but when they do there's always more
and this is what our living's for.

when night brings despair
reflection upon the moon
proves the sun still shines

Cher... thank you very much! I wrote this spontaneously inspired by someone's post on another site. I love it when people pick out the lines they liked! Thx! :)

Scott... Oh I see! You weren't quoting me! hah.. dumb me. sighh... Thanks for reading and the lovely reply. Hope you are well. Haven't seen you in a while. I feel real bad that I got sick and everything went haywire and I misplaced the link to the site (your son's, I think), with all the banner images he wanted to submit. Please forgive me! If he's still interested, could you send me the link again by private message or email or even post it here? Thank you if you have time and thanks to him! I have quite a few submissions I've recently received and will be working on new banners for the rotation this coming week. :) Thanks for reading my piece. I hope your meter's still goin' strong! *smile* (I'm a fan, yanno!)

always a pleasure
your words i treasure
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
