Let me wake to normal

Post by ButterflyKiss » February 24th, 2011, 4:08 pm

Please let me wake when the sun comes 'round again

just let me wake and things be normal again

no surprises, no magic

I'll gladly welcome home boring, uneventful nothingness
instead of this
let me sleep next to him one last time
feel safe in sweet embrace

let me know what tomorrow brings
I'll welcome home the comfort of mundane routine

Please let me wake when the sun comes 'round again

let me wake and things be normal again

let me feel like this is a home again

take away the silent echoes within these hallowed chambers

take away the impalpable, unwelcome strangers

let me feel like this is a home again

please let me wake when the sun comes 'round again

just let me wake and things be normal again

let me hop aboard a time machine
with hopes of finding recognizable anything

once more I will lay down my head
close my eyes
wish for normal when I wake

no surprises, no magic

I'll gladly welcome home
boring, uneventful nothingess
instead of this

A wow poem in the sense that one recognizes the theme so well at least from part of one's life in the past. Well captured, Butterflykiss. 8)

very good poem......a look at what is "normal".......and a desire to even do the mundane as long as there is someone else in the house.......and in this case it would seem that "someone" was very special.......

I don't know if you intend your signature to be a part of this...but it's so gracefully concluded...like a song (do you sing it?)...and fits so well also to sometimes end it with "This...butterflykiss"...really like this one (sorry for rambling...those kind of weeks).

Thank you all...for such kind words...I think too often we take the day to day things for granted. Like washing dishes...taking for granted we have a home to shelter us, a meal to fill our tummies, a family, a friend, a lover to share it with. Then some drama or turmoil takes hold of us and we forget the beautiful things we have around us that seem to disappear and fall away from our concern...I wish more people enjoyed the boring day to day things like me...simple...zen-like happiness.
Thanks again for appreciating my words...simple nothingness...is beauty!

@ Joel, I do not sing but the words come to me in song...I would love to see someone put them to music....!

Amazing...and a gift like this could be written in four-part unsung harmony itself....
