I've Lost IT Again

I have a brain, I know I do. At least I did, the last time I checked.
I keep it in a jar , on the table right beside my bed.
That way,
I'm always able to find it, even when I lose my head.
Like now: Well, I thought it was here.
Now, I'm not sure where I left it last time I used it.

So many jars; so many brains. and you know,
only ONE will fit the inside of my skull.
All the rest are either too big
or too small
or too round
or too oval.

Jars and jars and jars of brains.
Monkey brains, rat brains, turtle brains;
none of these fit.
Dog, cat and froggy brains;
no, no and no again

Wait!!!!

Wait a minute, I think,
maybe, under the kitchen sink?
Yes!!
I do believe that's it.
I couldn't find it because it was hidden
way back there
behind the bird brain.
