Went out for a haddock sandwich and decided to drop into the local water. Went on the lake, first time for me this year. The water was really calm. It always amazes me how something as large geographically as Lake Ontario can get so calm. Followed the shore along, saw a beautiful fox. Healthy and good size, it has been a successful hunter. Blue herons, mallard and merganser duck. plovers, killdeer, and a woodchuck who gave me such a human look I laughed out loud. All this within city limits down along the lake shore. Got my kinks worked out along the way. And I'm pleasantly tired.

I needed to cut my trip short and come home.
My dog was misbehaving again. :(
I don't have any more options left with him and it's just breaking my heart.

He's an absolute nutball, I swear. All my neighbors are fed up. grr. But, I love him, cause he's family even if he is obnoxious.

Well, also cause I have anxieties driving and had a big attack while on the road and that's no good. I need a chauffeur, like driving miss daisy. I likes to be in the passenger seat. I can only handle driving myself short distances around town. Urgh.
Anyway, I had to stop at a creek and try to collect all my marbles again.
I'm looney or sumpin'.

What's your fourth plans, mingo? Gonna go watch the lights?

I'm a broken piece of nuff is all. I'm tattered and rattled, been crying for two days. Had to make the appointment to have my lovey dog put to sleep this month and my heart is not gonna hold up, not gonna. I'm just painting black.
I'll not be ables to sleep with myself for some time.

Sorry, Doll. Ya jus' have to do it and get through it and and then get on. It will be part of the past soon enough. Yell scream & cry. Sum of my wisdom on most tragedies people tell me - hang in there.

I will get through it.
It's not the first time,
my faulty nature to not dabble with natural order of things
and let it be wild where wild and then I get stuck with the consequences. I'll face them. I might learn one of these days.

my neighbors got themselves in a fix thinkin' the same way. They wanted to help the bluebirds which, truth be told, have had a time of it for decades around here.
So they put up bluebird nesting boxes. Sounds simple don't it ? Wanting to help is where it begins. As soon as they did that bluebirds did come to them & built nests and laid eggs in the nests. This attracted raccoons, skunks, & whatnot. The raccoons proved out as the best marauders bar none of bluebird nests. So the neighbor's wife buys a pellet gun and learns to use it & she learned to use it well. She could put trained snipers to shame. Especially since she has four or five different kinds of arthritis and the shakes from all the pills she takes for the arthritis. Any 'coon she sees within 80 yards of her piece is a candidate for raccoon heaven. Her hatred of furry masked bluebird egg bandits is such that she will, on general principles, kill raccoons on sight even if they are not anywhere near "her" bluebirds. Then her husband has to go out with his pistol and finish off with a shot to the head any 'coon she has mistakenly only wounded. ( she shoots to kill ) I've got five or six raccoon skulls here for my projects that come from my neighbors attitudes about "helping the bluebirds"
Her husband drags the raccoon bodies down to the edge of his lawn and throws them in the woods and lets nature take it's course with them. ( imagine that ! )
Whole pile of raccoon bones down there, it's really quite awesome. And there has been a new twist lately. Tree sparrows have taken to attacking the bluebirds in their boxes. They get in the boxes, kill or chase away the adults then throw out the eggs and build their own nests in the bluebird's place. This presented a problem because the tree sparrows are too small and too fast for shooting sssooooooooooooooooo ... ( Ya see how this is "evolving" ? ) the husband, my good buddy Ol' Town Mad Wayne, who would rather NOT be involved this deep ... but for the wife's sake, comes up with this trapdoor contraption inside the birdhouse and it's really something, it is. The tree sparrow gets in there, springs the door and is trapped. Then Ol' Town takes the nestbox off the pole, carries it up to his swimming pool where he holds the whole thing underwater 'til the sparrow is dead. I laugh but have only mentioned my observations on these doings to them once. If they would only NOT do anything things would get on the way they do, ya know ? 8) But ... ya know, it's the damndest thing, I could never understand why human beings get so stubborn about wrongheaded ideas and not be stubborn at all about rightheaded ones. I asked Mad Wayne one day when he was saying he was tired of killing raccoons, I asked him if he knew what the Indians do when they know the do-gooders are coming to "help" them. He said no & I said they head in the opposite direction as fast & as far as they can. He laughed. Yup, he laughed. And he's still over there across the road killing raccoons and drowning tree sparrows. Anyways, as you can see, you're not alone about this. 8) Ok, Doll, that's it for now, time to shower and make lunch. Next time this situation comes up for ya remember what it is to feel the way you're feelin' right now. Maybe it will be a help to ya. Then again, maybe not. 8)
