the blacksmith's anvil, the lovers' bed

Post by Kailashana » August 30th, 2011, 10:41 am

Pythagoras was a music critic
all things in relationship,
harmony and proportion is beauty
the universe is ordered,
sequenced and nuanced

all planets are aligned with clouds
of free thought,
in its center, we are lovers
making love
ascending
and descending, blending ripe
juices of conquest

I am Frida wild on your fingertips

sometimes the best poems are a
canvas
created from nothing,
sometimes we have
nothing to say, sometimes we break
down, lacking even the scorch of air

but sleep comes when it does
in it we are
dreamers, embracing then
moving away, you on your edge,
me on mine,
falling

suspended in mid-air, our bed is an island,
sparks fly, poke holes in the darkness.

yes life is like the chromatic scale with its sharps and flats....and if we are lucky we find some balance between hard work and soft love...they each have their place in the biorhythms of living, each a buffer for all the inevitable heartbreak...

least that's my take.....in any case a thought provoking piece, anna

If any of my poems, provoke *thoughts* I am a happy camper, regardless of the swarms of mosquitoes buzzing and biting me.

:D

One of my favourite quotes by Salman Rushdie:

"A poet's work . . . to name the unnamable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and stop it from going to sleep."
