the knots in healing

[saw]

If I could loosen all these knots
I'd pull myself through the loop
get free, fly away like a newborn hawk
chasing a bird of paradise, I'd leave
these see-through ropes coiled
in the vacant air, in the dust
of what cannot be undone, I'd
pat myself on the back, say
there there now, I forgive you
and I would learn the art
of forgetting, how to become
someone new, here in my
self-imposed
witness protection program
if only I could loosen all these knots
