I been doing my best to just read along with "Dear Jan" and sit on my hands and not make any extraneous spontaneous posts. A good read mingo. thank you for writing.

i don't mind profusions of posts, Jack. makes the world worth spinning around on - ain't done too much with Deer Jan lately - my old dying teeth have had a lot of my attention lately - ha.
This morning though I opened my eyes and it's so bright and clear - the sun out and putting the light close on everything - shiny

I caught a good sunrise, I was up before my radio alarm went off at 05:27. Sunday morning, first day morning the quakers call it. I usually feel like Monday is the first day of the week. I would like to found a religion with a six day sabbath. Sunday would be counted as a monday, a day of work, to sweat my brow for my daily bowl of high fiber oatmeal.

oatmeat, such an interesting typo there

Oatmeat ? Wow - yeah - can you hunt that from the back of your pony or is it one of those things where you get to go stealth in the bushes?

My teeth were grinding me so bad yesterday that's all I had or could eat was oatmeal - the instant kind - I was so happy to be able to suck it down without pain that I went out and bought a lottery ticket because that's how it made me feel.

Didn't win but it didn't matter.

Hey you got nuthatches in Texas? My uncle used to call them "Ass-up birds" because they get on a tree trunk and walk down it face first with their ass in the air. They are so natural about it that it just cracks me up to watch them.

Learned a new word yesterday - ADD - stands for attention deficit disorder - it's always surprising about these things, you run across it for the first time and realize that you have had it for years - surprise surprise ...

like oatmeat

ok gotta logout - now there's a word I never used or even thought of when I was growing up - as an act it's pretty sterile - I mean ya just push a button and poof you are gone - wonder if you could get creative with it

I want to get one of those wall clocks with a face showing twelve birds and chiming their bird calls on the hour.

Mocking bird the state bird of Texas, I got city slicker eyes, I don't know most of the time what I am looking at, the bear my beloved brotherinlaw pointed out a mocking bird to me the other day.

Speaking of birds, I would like to write a dear Alex letter some time.

I hear a word and I got it, be it the name of a disease or a condition. Yes all the bits and pieces, i seem them as beads to be strung in hyper text markup language or at least BBcode

Creativity, like anything else, is a real bitch. I mean a REAL BITCH ... BUT ... she's exactly the kind of bitch I can't help but fuck with. I mean just when I'm minding my own business she'll come round to remind just how much I love & can't help fucking with her. She's bad news and a hell of a lot of fun.

I guess that makes me a mass-o-kiss-tic ... creativity - she's a dirty dirty girl.

She put her song on my lips and in my heart. Without her I'm a dead man walking.

Her & I - we are slaves of each other. She can't help herself & neither can I.

We have the best of fun all the time.

I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way.
I believe, I believe.

I believe above the storm the smallest pray'r will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, or touch a leaf or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe!

Rant - I've been trying to locate some haiku this morning by a poet whose name I've been searching out for some time. Thing is I can find books for sale by him but can't find any haiku just to read. TF - total frustration. The books are expensive ( come to think of it, what ain't? )
so I give up - in honor of my surrender on this point I write my own poem - the whole story and nothing but the story - to myself I say, "Self, don't be a lazy bastard" and Self replies, "No, I won't" .

anyone who would
pay 45 bucks to read
the haiku of others
would be much better served
and richer in many ways
writing haiku of their own -

Today Google failed me. Thus proving once again that Google is not God.

Gadjets - gadget - wow can I spell this word? I guess - yeah - ok it didn't look right. Old age is turning out be a ball ain't it? I'm having fun already. Thx for the link - I had a copy of that book once, shit it was years ago - I think I was still in the Navy - I remember it going with me up the coast north of Frisco. Had it on the console of a '67 Barracuda. In the console was my bag of dreams. Made my whole mind the land of the Fog Machine in those days. Cisco Kid was a friend of mine. There I was on the coast of California with Japan in the knapsack. Ha.

nothing lasts
nothing is finished
nothing is perfect

Wabi-sabi - HA! What an incredible idea, for this world anyways. Better than egg-frogs!
"flawed beauty" - o you bet! man give me a flawed tea cup to celebrate with so I am reminded of this always!

Yaka-boo-boo!

Limited mortality - when it bursts into the scene of your neurons, well, this is a freedom.
Not political or spiritual but personal. A flawed utensil of your very own with which you can drink to the health of the sky! Most honorable!

Shit, I can drive a bus like this all over the place!

Even right in to old photographs.

Like that old World War Two fighter plane they found out in the western desert of Egypt - I've seen the pictures of it - makes you wonder what happened to the pilot - that poor sod. Poem! Poem!

Amelia Earhart cupcakes! I gotta find me some glue!

Not only that but I have a samurai lawnmower with which I chop off the heads of the hundreds & hundreds of buddha dandelions growing in my lawn.
Slaughter! Slaughter!

Nobody is going to rob ME of having all the fun I can!

Hai-YA!
