Survey: The Aporia of Pure Treason

Post by e_dog » March 23rd, 2005, 1:06 am

1. Can one duel with oneself? If so, what is its structure?

2. God is dead, said Nietzsche. Should the mortician apply make-up? What suit should the corpse wear?

3. If you follow yourself into the woods, can you lead yourself astray?

4. Which betrays intentions more: thought or action?

5. Is it better to lie or to remain silent? Persuasion is deception.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

1- yes: alcohol, a mirror, literature.
2- no make-up for morticians
suit for the corpse: of course, not her/his favourite one.
3- I have little wood-related-experience, so I can´t answer.
4- thought
5- To remain totally silent is something near science-fiction to me.

very intriguing answers.

allow me to respond.

1. Literature is a dual with oneself when it is reflexive or modernist. Do you mean that alcoholic literary types duel with themselves in their work or that alcohol makes anyone war with herself regardless of the writingnes of it?

2. I say, why insult the body of god? Let her wear the entire wardrobe: every avatar from all world religions, at once. That will fatten her up and require a larger casket, though.

3. The forest of cities will do for sure, and just as well for lostness.

4. Thought-action is an action through thinking.

5. This is the most profound but mysterious of all.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.
