i can about eat
a plate of red beans & rice
makes me get all louisiana like
walking around eyeing the ladies
& snapping my sus-penders
that's about as spiritual
as i get these days
except on my bike but
rain keeping me inside two days now
keeps up like this my spiritual form
gonna resemble an ingrown toenail
on a voo-doo priestess
i go to walmart
and see some heavy-duty medicine personalities
from the past -
or the future - i don't know anymore
in dreams i take down the bright flags
waving above weeded over lots
so that when i wake up i go
what the hell was that all about ?
even with all the dust that's
mixed into everything i still look
it's just that i'm a lot less likely
these days to set up camp in it

no tax return

3 years consecutive
poetic price to pay
the show to give
better to barter
the words
someway around
between here n there

fun up the yang ying bin
and meateating all the way
pick & choose
win & lose
i got to have a brake on mine
at least one
love the fixie girls
subliminal criminal
grey sky or sun
jumping in to the nurse's purse
and speaking in tongues
got chunks of church
all over me
the blood of birth
was washed off of me
by hands whose names i never knew
hands long gone to dust for sure
was, were, & whirl
sometimes i'm stone
other times sponge
closed down or a pump
barometer steady
forecast - rain
april days

jam -
open flow
snow on the ground today
gone now
eight pm & still light on the land
ghost of kerouac
steppin' on his mother's back
laughter from the cracks
scandal in sandals
woman in red
scarlet edge
those stockings encasing
living flesh
all in debt
walking away from every trainwreck
o it's a rare read
with dents & depth
& surface scratches
from having been
around the bend

Just be aware
if you care
that nothing
lasts forever.

There are no guarantees
that Studio8 will be
up and running for
any set time, it's true
I'm sure you knew
that one day every site
will be NEVER.

That's why I save
everything I write
in a separate file.

I used to save them in folders
titled Poetry 1, Poetry 2, etcetera.
But after a while,
I knew that wasn't good since dates
were more important.
So to sort
them, I now save them by year.
I am currently writing in a folder titled
Poetry 2015, just to be clear.

I never jam on facebook.
I rarely post a poem there.
The software doesn't work
for jamming or for poetry.
I know dozens of people who
write their poetry and tag me
to read it.

Words slip down the page so fast,
there's no way for people to see your
poems there unless you tag people
which I don't like doing.

This isn't a poem. It's a statement.
:D

THIS IS A POEM:
If you find another spot to jam it,
let me know, dammit.

;)
