we got a cool-down
going on too -
birds come down
to hunt on my lawn
they don't miss much
pick-pick-pick
the worms can't seem to win
if they move they are dead
if they breathe they are dead
that beak comes dead on into the earth
and the tugging begins

wandering those fields
of long ago
I had to stop,
perchance to scheme
sons dodging mothers
senseless words
sisters avoiding
brothers inevitable
lackluster shine on
a harvest moon
boy ain't had no lovin'
since june or july
demented old Cecil B.
domino sugar sign seen
from the hill
Edgar walked those streets
till he met his Waterloo
or was that a man with his
hand in his vest,
finger on the trigger
knowing that it
makes no sense
a horseman off course
like a golf ball
out of bounds
rollicking down
the railroad track
yeah he was lost
in the woods
liking it, magic madman's
claim to fame
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

the long hauler
just gets it done
no matter the distance
no matter the load
turns no right
turns no left
just straight on
'til the last delivery is made

4 mile round trip
was the whole of my roll today -
the whole way riding
the edge of the rain /

punctuation - they harp on it over there
they must like harping
if you wrote a poem of pure silence
someone would be glad to tell you
what punctuation you yo you missed
and precise instructions to help you rectify that -
i jam on but it seems we are becoming
a hell of a scarce breed
but the way I see it is :
awake or asleep
a tiger is always dangerous
and if ya can't jam
then leave the land
because the land favors
only the righteous
