cool outside for a change
only been here a few months
why couldn't it be like this
the whole past week working
in the heat
poet's life is the shit
without which the poet
wouldn't have much of a life
the river down the road
ain't much of a river at the moment
little more than a creek
truth be told
creek
reek
stranded on the beach
keep it clean
mean
and lean
bark bark bark barkbark
movin' in the dark
keep steamin' and whatever ya do
don't drop the load
but reap it
just reap it !
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

A dream so vivid
It could only be true
Set in some alternate reality
Full of spice and surprise
Lust in her eyes
Carried on the wind
I could smell the sweat
Yes, it was a relief
To finally get inside her skin
Now I never wanna leave
So it's back to dreams
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

looking out the window
dawn coming fast -
yesterday spent landscaping for the landlord
weed wacking tough weeds
and cutting down brush
he had let the woods
grow too close to his cement deer
i jammed that shit back to the big trees
opened a vista into the forest
three big piles of brush sitting
by his driveway
replaced the strings on the weed wacker
about twenty five times
some good cursing went on there

digestion rapes time
philosophy is another
religiously raised gun barrel trigger pulls things
jump
out
bounce around to aid
distraction & only when
we bleed is anything
real - so everything looks
more & more unlikely
but we
still operate
our teeth
still stuck in
the fruit
pussy still wet
penis still erect
counting the years
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

can't find the on switch
pathways swirl into storms of dust
think I'll take a walk anyway
no chance or really getting lost
in a world that knows my every move
I can roam as good as any buffalo
play cards with deer and antelope
penny a point til the game warden
breaks it up, hey dude
I ain't no poacher, i'm maurice
doctor of love, preacher for the hopeless
hapless, helpless, folks like myself
that stumble for light and air
and eyes like blue water that see
through all this bullshit
and buffalo shit, and deer shit and
antelope shit 'cause the answers
come in piles of dung, and truth.........
truth is organic
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Woah
Played out
Things change
A travesty?
My view from
afar or right here
Yet I still come, to write
This long jammin' song
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

moving down by the river
i mean right next to
dropped the kayaks into the water
by simply dragging them across
the yard -
1st time on the water
in two years
it's just down the road
from where we
are now -
taking stuff down
a little at a time
place is whacked
two trailers put together
like a doublewide
but long before doublewides
were invented
got a screened in deck
facing the river
the place is a real jam
literally
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
