took the Ghost
out under the moonlight
for a ride
crossed the river
2 a.m.
stars so far away
so silent with distance
heard the train coming to the crossing
but i was too far away
to make it in time

(sorry been scarce for the jam - still moving to the river house, takes time even though a short move, workin with the landlord during the days move at night - ain't had the mood for jam lately - working on short form stuff - sittin on my little porch that overlooks the river at the moment - just watched a small snake cross the river here - they leave hundreds of ripples in their wake, then all those ripples cross one another in outward flow - now that's jammin' 8)

listening to music
down by the river
saturday morning

Jammer lives to jam
Front porch sittin
Watching the river flow
Big snake
Water moccasin?
Hellun
Hanging on
Ripples in water time
Late night mover
All night groover
Better to be a jammer
Even if they wanna poeticize
Ride ride ride!!!

no moc's this far north
at least not yet
just
possibilities possibilities
broke into Dr. Sax again last night
read it the first time
at the long end of last winter
didn't have much to say about it then
( hold up, got to take off my eagle hat )
but last night it took me
for a ride -
it's like i didn't catch
the flow the first time
now it's caught me
fuckin' kerouac sometimes
i just want to bitch slap him
ridin' with the moon up here
got a bridge crossing the Little Salmon River
right out front of my River house
three different cars have collided
with the bridge and each other
in the last three weeks
- happened again two nights ago -
car hit the guardrail, stopped, then drove off
making a helluva racket -
i think a benign spirit
has taken up residence
on the bridge in an attempt
to let the state know
it's time to replace the bridge
( which is falling apart )
or replace the drivers that use it
could be first cousin to Dr. Sax
for all i know

Snow leopards
Alley cats
Black panthers
In ny suburbs
Running deer on
Golf course fairways
Copperheads riding
In trucks toolbox
West Virginia rattlers
Under the trailer
Black bear
Red panda
Leopards not afraid of man
Smell of skunk on walk to train
4:38 am.
Never a rat on these Frederick streets
Mice hidden
Trash trucks aplenty
Bab boom bangin
I sit for a moment
In reverie 4:42
Set alarm 5:55
To awake me on train
In case
Dream reverie
Over takes
Where is that tax return?
Health insurance kicked in
Relief, yet expensive
62 and 1/2 yesterday
Nothing stands still
Jammer I be
Shape shifter
Time traveler
Book reader
Funny how the kindle made me do it
Basho.....jack....Han Shan....Gary Snyder....Li Po .....& on......
