Cancer Ward

Post by the mingo » September 18th, 2015, 10:00 pm

this ain't no pseudo sewage
no suicide to soothe
the superstitious
both lie & truth are stripped away
suit up and summa cum laude
with a side order of longing
everybody walks the wire here
everybody can see to the end of the line
without law & with imagination
exclaimed & equipped
most certainly evolved
heading across the expanse
taking the express
to that place that has
no dark anymore
going home
going home
going home
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

with lines like, " both lie and truth are stripped away" and " everybody walks the wire here "
I was thrown back to when my 14 year old son had leukemia and I was trying to make small talk with other kids with cancer, that basically just called me on that shit, made me realize that this is as real as it gets, and it's OK, No, imperative ...that everyone in the room be Real...
I learned a new level of communication, that initially made me very uncomfortable, but ultimately felt very right
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

wow- that was really intense- beautiful-
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Good poem. Makes you appreciate life and how we are all in this together and how we all share the same fate though some are gone too soon.

It's a road I been down for too long...lonesome & helpless on
The sidelines, now it's my sister....you never can find the words to say....
All you can do is love.
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

This time, local news
& cognitive disonance
reminded us cancer war-d years once more
I heard that years also passed for you
in the form of 25000 shits of paper
and also ( I guess, I wonder)
in a more uncountable caring ways.

why you, the morphine angel
needed to hide in the ceiling
& suddenly become a rice trader?

(gracias mingo for the poem!!!)

I never saw this poem from a year ago. Glad it got kicked back up top. Love the alliteration in it ... plus the stark truths...
everybody walks the wire here
everybody can see to the end of the line
sigh...

and then, you turn it on its head so it becomes a blessing of light
heading across the expanse
taking the express
to that place that has
no dark anymore
going home
going home
going home
a brave piece of work, mingo
