I remember the tree
the one that held the stars up in the night
or where the stars holes
in the night that held up the sky
I don't know what these words mean,
what does night mean, I mean I know
what the word night says to my mind
but the more I say the word, the more it
somehow eludes me, the mystery it becomes
and I exist in this darkness, and something
that seems to twinkle out there
and so I see the tree as something that holds it
that reaches up into it, and it reaches back
there isn't just nothingness and a whole lot
of somethings moving around in it
but I feel the nothingness, but that is nothing
I remember the sound of her voice
and the feeling of her body in my arms
she was like the word night, she was like the stars
she was like the tree and I am holding her
I hear her singing in the vast nothingness
and something that twinkles
