I want to have a naked lunch
not with Steely Dan, with all
those others that never read Burroughs
those ones I still hold dear
but don't know how to talk to,
what if we could step down to
that basic element that always feels
right, where we never leave
without satisfaction , that place
where clothes fall off like burdens,
that place where there is nothing
up your sleeve 'cept an arm of silky skin
and elegant bone, and the magic is
a teaspoon of molasses dripped
in super-slo-motion... oozing for eternity
Tupelo Honey over neurons, Don't tell
me that I'm a dreamer, I already know that...
tell me something new
something new
something new
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

Re: something new
Nice poem, interesting comment about Burroughs as there really is those who read him and those that did not.I really liked him I read Naked Lunch when I was seventeen, it blew my mind, because I really felt that like he was teaching about the world and I was a fan ever since. I read everything he wrote. I met his son Billy one day in a hang out place in Santa Cruz called the Catalyst, it was a bar and a cafe and a food place. i bought Billy a beer and we talked for awhile.
