on the track

Post by revolutionR » March 5th, 2017, 10:14 pm

down on the railroad track
down by the ocean
near Depot hill
I finished reading On the Road

I don't know what I was thinking
it was nineteen seventy not the fifties
I had spent the late sixties
taking LSD and running around

now I was trying to see where the road
was headed, I was living in the biggest
hippie town in the world

but already the hippie dream was fading
but poetry was a light on the horizon
so I got up off the track
and began walking toward that light
