black vulture in a cage
he seemed so sad
when i spoke to him

he came closer to me
and cocked his head
he can no longer fly

nature center claims
he is injured
but maybe euthanasia

would be more humane
bald eagle too
he refused to look at me

these holy relics
to false gods

old 8-track tapes
my college report cards
DOS manuals

broken lamp
two projector screens
begone, all

home from the dump
both my car and my heart
a bit lighter
