some days I feel
lazy gray
other days golden true


for i am a spinning orb
no different than pluto
I cinch up my asteroid belt
like every other man

it keeps my pants from falling
down around my ankles
tripping me up
when i try to run

into the meadow of tranquility
romping like a boy
chasing a rainbow rabbit
across an endless field of sky

my father is orion
my mother is luna
and I am a fortunate sun
of the masterpiece universe


given a deferment for age
but still a soldier....
in the army of love
