trails

Post by saw » December 23rd, 2017, 10:19 am

like a hand moving on acid through the air
I dip into the punch bowl of reckless thought
tap into the powder keg of emotions
only Hunter S.Thompson could fathom
it's nailed shut in basement barrels of oak,
of notions left to explore, for I am
merely an esoteric scientist, a lover
of new ideas, truth be told as it should
I'd avow to no particular oath and admit
I am only a warrior spore blowing across a field
of Lewis Carroll's perceptive gardens
lighter than air, but heavily into fresh paths,
Oh, the exhilaration of finding an unexpected trail
carved by lovers before me, labors of pure
philanthropy by spirits unseen, and it is my
responsibility to trample the invasive weeds
and clear the fallen trees, I hike with duty
and purpose, i march with a song of freedom
my eyes and heart propped open by toothpicks
blessed by the hands and sands of time,
I walk into the misty maze with my knapsack ablaze....
just as my predecessors have done before me
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

trailer's oath
to bravely pursue
each buried path

forever the search
destination be damned
from the journey we grow

in the looking glass
my doppelganger smiles back
don't be afraid to take the other fork
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
