careless reader, I thought you were on a bike.

I think you said winter is unifying......
Not quite. I said that cleaning up in a storm's aftermath is a communal experience shared with my neighbors.

I feel the wind on jacks face by big sir
On the road - his beard- the smell of hitchhiking
Cliffs and waves and the weather
The moods the words
The smile of sunlight
Jack carries the soul of all that seek something deeper
Than the previous story being told
Invent a new format for slick communication
Only certain people got it
Then the retro hippie wanna be
The beatniks has it going on
Coffee houses
Jazz
All the props of a chaotic mysterious life
Atoms circling
Peoples minds expanded
San Francisco’s haughty ashbury
free love
Was maybe a bit strange
But more fun than shaking hands
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

sometimes when I am riding my bike and
the wind is from the south east
I can smell the sea 150 miles away
the word euphoria comes to mind

Jack's voice
comes through so clear
even though he said there is only one way
and it is your way
I am just another Kerouac wannabe
seeking transparency
but all I can do is limp along to what he could fly to.

Nice jam, enjoyed it much
well written creative 8)

Oh yes I remember sex
something I used to have
long long time ago
you are right it was fun
with someone I admired
but I remember back 50 years ago
when all I saw in a woman was her sex
and I was not so picky who I had it with
seventies was my wake up time
the sixties I was a dead man walking sleeping with shotguns
this was after crazy mike died, and I almost killed my mother
never forget the look on her face when I put my hands around her throat
not fear but sorrow
that night I left baltimore
ten years later we tripped together
well I was tripping she was just sipping a glass of tea
and we talked all night
and we were best friends again
just like we were before crazy mike died

the man who would be jack
how I envied him his wife
his daughter

I been drinking a lot lately

but only on Sundays and Wednesdays
how did jack get so old so fast?

I have lived thirty years longer then him so far
and have not done a god danm thing with this precious gift of life
have had some good times and bad times
beauty and pain
found true love and ran from it
no doubt I am son of crazy mike

what I need most this morning is a good cigar
because sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

i am a fortunate son this morning
I got one
I but two a week, Cubans the cheapest about 3 bucks a piece
one for Sundays and one for Wednesday
I can make them last about three days a piece
Can't bee sittin here too long
sunny shinny warm day in the republic of desire

a day to ride
too do or die
Me matey

I was walking in black gumbo all week
the local name for this black soil I live on
it gets wet it takes your shoes off
I am sturggling for the legal tender
to pay off a huge water bill the result of a live oak tree, that was planted over the water line to the house over twenty years ago I imagine the bear and my baby sister put some thought into its placement. but not much thought about the water line.

It is a beautiful tree, winter not so bleak here because of the live oak trees
so easy being green

robles! so beautiful
I can connect more with trees, birds, fishes, grass, soil, mountains & water
rather than with a dog licking my knee

Better a knee than
my face
Dog face
Lickin'
Lickity splickin
Here in the dark of the bar....12:32am.
Rap music on the sounds
Cliche driven
Exotic sounds
Repeat and repeat
Snow mobiles racing on the tube
Snowing somewhere in Minnesota I imagine
There's no heaven
Hope there's not
Just rambling and jamming......😎
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Long jazz riffs
Holding each other in a desperate measure
Need and desire crumpled up in the curve
The long dance 💃

the long trek up to baldwin
dad used to beat the hell out of me
now I'm his caregiver and I'm logging in the hours
what's it all mean ?...things come full circle ?
or am i just nothing like him ?
maybe I'm just being selfish subconsciously
thinking perhaps this my chance to rack up some karma
hell if I know, but I never think much about the leather belt anymore
I reckon that's all he knew, spare the rod, spoil the little bastard
so i drive and drive back...spend the night often...can't stand
anyone being alone, and he's as tough as they come
doctor said to dad, must have been scary laying on the floor
with 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung and dad said....Not really
and it ain't like he's got a death wish, it's just he ain't afraid of dying
93 years is a long time to live...and he's tried to make amends best he can
and well it's all wheelchair and sponge baths, tho I convinced him
to do jigsaw puzzles with me...cause his whole life is a a puzzle
and he kinda likes them tho sometimes has the sky on the bottom
and the grass on the top
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

taking care of your father is a mitzvah

above the sky
beneath the grass
crazy mike spared the rod
but not my mind
the kindest thing he ever did for me
was spare me Hebrew school
an atheist jew
he told me that heaven and hell
was right here on earth
right now
one of these days I will make it back to Baltimore and visit his grave
last time I saw it was 40 years ago
his tombstone was leaning
a victim of vibrations of the trucks rumbling down Dundalk Ave on the way to the marine terminal
there is an empty plot next to him
reserved for rose
but she did not want to go there when she died
so now she is my rose of san antonio

for years I lived in dread of being crazy mike
nietzsche was a comfort, so was the lsd
now I am free
to be myself

Salmon,
red bell peppers,
fresh asparagus, mushrooms,
quick seared on a hot flame.
Post-workout delight.
