laid it all down
one word at a time
like a long train of box cars
going on for a hundred miles
linked and synced
poked and prodded
a locomotive of rap
smoke pouring from the stack
the iron wheels of the jam
cannot be stopped, they
roll down the fiery tracks
covered in blankets of color
I see the cattle-catcher in front
throwing squares to the side
and there is Wireman inside the engine car
yanking on that whistle
I can hear the howl like a lonesome wolf
in the wilderness, steam on Wireman !

busy spacemen bees pollinating
down every petal strip with guides on both sides and
down the middle
zones of landing of color of hi-dee-hi and
radar 'love' o'reilly says 'Incoming! they're
spreading like butter like rumor
like legs like joy'

some think the Sumerians had alien visitors
that position would explain the complicated math
but who knows who did what when and how
some think the bible is a history book and some think
the moon is made of green cheese, all I know
is walking in the woods makes me happy, I can feel
my grin enlarge with each step deeper into contentment
and how lucky am I to still have the opportunity
and physique to manage this form of meditation, and
so my church is built of trees ( that are still living)
and the aisles are trails of compacted earth
and the pews have hymnals of bird songs and
the squirrels don't wear robes, and the deer
don't ask for money

the days grow short
the nights cool
no longer am I awakened
by sunshine on my face
instead my circadian clock
rouses me to gray darkness
making that dose of caffeine
even more urgent
a desperately swallowed elixir
antidote
to the lingering black
hovering like greedy death
outside my keep

I still got some jammin' ta do"
and like an angry sullen beast
it yields before a tardy dawn.......

brilliantly coloured sky
turns dim in a flash

phi jamma lamma
my alma mater of choice
never cost me a penny
to graduate.....and
well....I'm still in school
the school of rock is cool
but the school of jam is sweet
and delicious and never-ending
and they are simpatico. there is a melody
to the jam....in your head
in your heart
so let me get out-a-bed
put my feet on the chilling floor
and warm up my tongue
meet the day with a little jelly
that's right....or a little preserves
'cause them preserves can get a little chunky
