passing thoughts

Post by saw » August 12th, 2019, 9:11 am

I often lose track

the fine crystal fragility
of love
life,
may smash to the floor
without a warning growl

and it does seem
accidental almost
that something so intact
reliable
can fall apart in shards of organic matter

the abrupt impact rattling
the sensory organs,
so many
translucent cells strewn about
the hard lower surface of being

and no amount of Elmer's glue
can return the valued glass entity
to its original state
or luster

and sometimes all that is left to do
is sweep up the memories
and treasure
the new arrangement
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

It's hard to comprehend sometimes. We (well, some of "we" at least) have come to understand a little more about this in our own lives. But I wonder if we can understand this about the rock. It's fragility is being exposed at alarming rates. Yes I know, G. Carlin was right-- the planet ain't going anywhere; it's been here for four billion years. It will deal with us..
