Love is Obsolete

Post by mnaz » May 23rd, 2020, 2:45 am

Love is a faded photo.
Love is Jesus in sandals,
getting stoned, crucified.
Love is money, vice versa.
The love of money is sex.

Sex is unavoidable as you
innocently course streams.
Nature is crazed by sex, by
propagation, and love was
somewhere in the Bible.

yeah I've heard that
love thy neighbor shit somewhere
along the line
and certainly pockets of love exist
tangled up in blue
and I've heard money
is the root of all evil
and money for nothin' and the chicks for free
and dire straits are a comin
No, they won't be performing on stage
but they are a-comin'
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

The ascendant religion. (Just another one.) This One says it's different, 'cause for the first time it put a price on everything.

the quest for money for some
is an addiction like no other
and it's incurable, the addict
always needs more and more
and more, and the paradox
is the control they seek from mindless wealth
actually brings them to their knees
to worship a green monster.....
they hurt and kill to pay homage
to their false god that exists only as long
as it will get them anywhere
because in the end, even if they eat it all
they are going to die in the great famine
and all that money on digital statements
in fantasy banks will be useless as a means
to stave off the wolves
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Amen to that, Steve! I've often written about the "addiction of money" inn various ways.

You've put this vary clearly and succinctly. I've observed the truth in that in so many different contexts and even to a very light degree have seen it in myself, although the addiction area is reason enough.

Well it is you know, and
"God" not withstanding,
a poem I had to perfect.
It seemed reasonable
at the time.
