long-winded road

Post by mtmynd » June 29th, 2020, 11:32 am

============

have you ever
put these very words
in this exact sequence
thinking you were
an aboriginal
dancing to the drone
of a didgeridoo
under a full moon
with no clouds above
to block the view
of the endless universe
while your heart beat
in rhythm to forty-four
feet of which two
were your own and you
felt good all over,
united with something
larger than yourself
until exhaustion swept
over your entire body
and left you falling
to your knees and gasping
for the next breath
as if it may be your final
moment of existence as
a human being lost in
the periphery of solace
where hallucinatory
visions entranced your
consciousness and you
have never felt so alive
but so close to death
that you couldn't possibly
give way to wonder or doubt
leaving you to transcend
into the ethereal nothingness
coalescing with a spirit
that has no name because
you have never been there
but wish you had so you
could scream it out to
every fucking living person
whether they wanted to
hear it or not regardless
of the intent you offered
in pure humility and grace
without feeling that you
were something o! so special
that life had given you
something that was yours
and yours alone but you
just had to share it with
not just one but every one
that swam the same rivers
that you felt you had just
swum and swum and swum in
drowning all ego existence
as if you were Cain killing
Able in some biblical prophecy
that was regarded to be the
word of god given to like-minded
individuals that had to use
parables and magic to get the
experience out of their heads
and onto the streets so all
people would finally realize
that the purpose of being
would finally be known and
we would no longer concern
ourselves with petty wars
of words that nobody fully
understands but yet in
complete and utter desperation
long to flee from under the
guise of the illusive freedom
that taunts each of us at
some time or another in
our lives as we continue
fucking, breeding, hoping
that if we don't have the
answers then surely our
offspring somewhere in the
tree of humanity will and
all will finally be as it
was intended to be..?

if you can honestly answer
that you have no idea what
the hell i've been writing
about then i will buy you
a drink of your favorite
beverage and we will laugh
about our originalities and
how they intrude on our truths
as scepters of the soul
defending our authenticity
with each passing of the
drink down into our thirsty
gullets dry from long-winded
philosophies that have stalled
the conclusion of celebration
of playfulness and bliss which
was bestowed upon us from the
benevolence of pure light
overcoming all shadows on
the roads leading to ecstasy.

Awesome
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Oh the illusive freedom
that continues to taunt..
Yes, somewhere in our tree.
