i have been accused
of being hyper vigilant
but I question the source
narcissists always looking to blame
defame, claim.....this and that
don't get blinded by the gaslight
if you feel good about yourself
just keep on brothers and sisters
jam the negativity away, choose
carefully who you let in, no shame
in saying No.....setting boundaries
it's a legit strategy....predators
will come and go......better they GO
there.....I feel much better
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

keep your eye inward, outward
and all around
pulse in gear, heartbeat on this side of flatline
and GO

every ecosystem has its bottom feeders -
grifters and scammers
abound like weeds and ticks
they're just there
no sin in stepping carefully
and believing that
if it seems too good to be true
then most likely it ain't true
some might call it pessimism
or even cynicism...
I call it healthy skepticism...
tomato tomahto...
I've gotten this far
without pressing "1"
as the robotic callers so urge...

use the playbook from the Greek Skeptics
it's a wise choice for the overly complicated techno world
ask yourself do i really need this snazzy little gizmo
I know it will break in two weeks, but damn it looks so cool
plastic garbage that kills the oceans so we get get our rocks off
i search the marketplace for used things built like brick shithouses
my daughter and i will pick up an old cedar armoire today...
a hundred bucks......on line they were made of particleboard
and cost 350
uh uh
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I may be an endangered species
the last of my kind
bereft of any iToys
forced to read books
or magazines
or do crosswords
while waiting at the laundromat
built my own blanket chest
back in '78
from #2 pine
same stock as my bookcase
could have bought either from WalMart
for 49.95 -
but sans the bark of the handsaw
and the smell of sawdust

I do 2 crossword puzzles a day
one LA times, one NY Times
love the little jolt to the brain
still doing all my own repairs
have a few medium sized projects
coming up when the rains stop
maybe the last rodeo for the scaffold
and the extension ladder, I'm careful
But...........

sun shines
as we spin
light connects
infinite
all knowledge
expressed
its hard to remember
facilitate
make day to day
when all is one
and all that is has no begin
an alien to your own truth
There is no empty space

Plants gleaming....
Last nights shower
Clings to green aura
Quiet fills my mind's ear
Wonder of natural gifts
Jives with my decent health
I wish my oldest son
Was as lucky, disease
Keeps him indoors, all
we can do is support,
believe, he can turn
The proverbial corner
My daughter posted lovely
Go Fund Me page on FB
Sweet words from loving sib
And the world is responding
People I dont know helping
There are many big hearts
On the planet, sometimes
This is our jam
Our connection to humanity
Souls loving souls
Collateral Beauty........
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

yeah, collateral beauty gonna get us (somehow)
are we living in an too imperative, indicative and subjuntive world ?
is silence a good choice?

nothing is permanent
each relationship an experiment
in communication and patience
to try to understand
the complexity of a soul
we must try to get inside
the superficial skin covering
touch a little bone, breathe
the same air, try on the metaphorical shoes
today i will paint my heart out
let the colors drip like watercolor blood
cover the canvas of my anxiety
maybe get me a little closer to something real
all I can do is pick up the brushes
with the same hand that holds the pen
put something down to ponder
see if enlightenment shows her face
oh my such hope tangled up with art
will the eyes be revealed, who is that
looking back at me
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

almost a month and the jammers
have not visited the perpetual jam
but that's okay, they are jamming elsewhere
to the beats of their own drums
at their own pace, with whatever energy is left
I have chosen to come here this morning
because I don't want to let mark down
his perpetual jam must go on as long as I can see it
as long as I can lift one finger....I have a strong belief
that we are all doing the very best we can
and even when that isn't something to write home about
i can write it here
to keep the jam alive
it only takes one soul
rest easy mark.....your jam is still rollin' along
ever so slowly
but still rollin'
still alive
the jam you began has been touched by so many
a work in progress
to say the least
a jam only gets better with age
like wine and old poets
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I'll share some jam
bland though it be
it's my own recipe
from wild fruit I picked myself
cooked on my own stove
with the funky burners
and homemade wiring -
and if it tastes a little funny...
well, don't blame the tools
it's the cook
did my best
with what I had
and I guess
there's no shame in that -
so here's to you aged poets
(and one old wannabee) -
jam on, brothers
jam on

funky wannabe poets
spread the jam
spread it thick across the screen
the content is somewhat irrelevant
wireman just wanted it to never stop
oh wireman of the stars we hear you
we speak to you in whatever ways come to mind
we adlib, we jam-lib, we type like poet banshees
one word after the other, old funky wordsmiths
we don't need no stinkin' microphone
all we need is a keyboard, and a few fingers
even one old funky finger will do
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
