Re: Make America Great Again.
Make America Great Again was/is a brilliant slogan....now everyone with a bias, hatred, misguided excuse had a place they could join.....and it was feverish...and america got to look at itself in the mirror to see who we really were.....bigoted, hateful, intolerant, pompous assholes....well, at least half of us......Karl Rove was the strategist that I recall began a march to name things that would be the opposite of what they really wanted, and since then think-tanks spend a great deal of time debating what name will be the most misleading....

Re: Make America Great Again.
I think that was about the time Rush Limbaugh started belching out air pollution, and house speaker Newt Gingrich introduced his "Contract for America".... though even then I thought he'd meant "on".... the birth of the Tea Party... but I never imagined how acceptable & institutionalized naked bigotry would become...

Re: Make America Great Again.
Yep, that's when it started ramping up- '93-'94, right after Clinton was elected. But it had structural roots in the '80s in the Reagan/ Bush run, when Gingrich pioneered/spearheaded the development of party-wide carefully-orchestrated right wing Talking Points, and a controlled vocabulary of "strong" words and "weak" words to be applied to Republican and Democratic concerns, respectively.
