Boy of the Month
Boy of the Month
Perhaps the morning after whatever hangover produced the series this was in, or a day later, I must've snapped back into self-protection mode. Away with those troublesome and unrequited pinings! Bring on the verbal veils and misdirection! In any case, and just so we're ALL on the same page in this respect, my use of the term "boy" applies to an immature-acting or otherwise unsophisticated man of "legal age," being 18+ (and, quite frankly, there's little to an 18 year-old anyway)...
Boy of the Month
I'm inviting you to come-
swell the membership of One.
Be unindulgent, without love-
take a Founding Seat
and join the Club.
The Rules are simple, sometimes plain.
You must dress well
to hide your Pain.
Smoking's cool, Caffeine okay.
Whatever gets you
through the day.
This Month's agenda: one fresh Boy.
No one may touch him. He's our toy.
We'll viscerate our troubles well.
We'll yearn to touch, to taste, to smell.
Our Lust, we'll scrape; our Egos, scrub-
but never will we call it Love.
It's the Boy of the
Month Club.
September's tool for staying straight
is a Jock. His legs are great.
October's object can't compare.
At high tea, we'll mull his hair.
November's lad is short and sweet.
Chocolates will be served
for us to eat.
December's beauty, fine and rare,
will lack a little savoir faire,
so as to be not quite as good
as a proper painting rightly should.
Every month, we'll find a flaw,
some ugly Habit, an unsquared Jaw.
We'll have a list of Almost-Exes
and win the battle of the sexes.
We'll accomplish things and rediscover
how free to be, without a lover.
Let's hunger close, and drool, and raven.
We'll make quite sure
that none can have him.
Until we're done, lust dissipates-
desire peaks, evaporates-
into the nights we spend together
discussing need, and the whether
if-or-not it's worth the Joys
to pin our hopes on Stupid Boys.

All men are boys
but
All women are girls
and so
it all works out
in the end!
Boys will be boys
Girls will be girls
and this is a damned fine poem.
ps: and me, being just curious (if rather spurious) am wont to ask, I see some of what you're into
but do you want critique? (I don't necessarily have any; but as I said I'm curious and spurious.)

boys are girls and girls are boys, kind of a continuim in a way,
boys can become aging children faster than girls, age has nothing to do with maturity. Time is the trickster.
Happy are the boys happy to be boys
happy are the girls happy to be girls
and in the fuzzy area the overlap
happy are the few with the courage to be themselves
the holy grail is found
when one lives ones own life

And you'd think they'd know how many sugars a girl takes in her tea after nine months.hester prynne wrote:Boys are boring,
Any red-blooded woman knows that,
But when I look at Ice Tea,
I forget that fact.
Boys are silly,
Release them from your mind,
Captives are a burden,
But oh that random is divine...

Captives, eh? How else are you supposed to train them?

Sounds boring to me all right
sex education
Oiy Vey
what ever happened to going with the flow
what ever happened to doing what comes naturally
what do men know about a woman's needs
except there are some women who need men
as strange as that sounds to me
cause I have not much use for men myself
women are far more interesting then men, even when the are bored.
say good night gracie
