A Parting Gift...

Post by sooZen » January 30th, 2006, 11:49 am

i wonder if you will see this?
(the bigger picture intrudes
you larger than life...my life)
my anologies relate you to the sun
rotating around me, full of light,
impossible to actually touch
unless...
unless...
i want to burn

we are separate together
our paths weave like a demented rug
woven by if's, and's or but's
the weaver is our lives, our big picture
& the small incidences of dualities

my instrument is the brief poem
a haiku, where every moment is
like a crystal, a whip, a quiet picture

...or a round object with a hole
which is strung...together

your instrument is whatever is at hand
the brush, the word, the body, the fork

i lay at your center
while you rotate
a round...strung together

some people are attracted to body parts
a back
a leg
hands
eyes
a mouth...
thinking...it is not your body that draws me close
(although i do love all those parts)
it is the intensity of light, an aura (if you will) in your eyes
...when you really are looking at me...
and that smile and laugh (undescribable)

every time i leave you
there is always the possibility
i may never return
a possibility
a ponderment
in the rush to leave

we forget to realize that fact...
a quick kiss
a wave
and then the disappearance
maybe...forever

my parting gift to you
forever
you make me laugh
your light shines thru me
...the paths i have taken
you held my hand
touched my brow
moved me beneath and above you
i want you to know
forever
Freedom's just another word...

you play your heiku instrument well--playing a song longer here than rules allow and just as poignant as the shortest prick of a verse. beautiful and good flow.

Thank you joel although it is not really a haiku...i play that over on the haiku board...my poetry is mostly just an idea waterbrushed in a stream of consciousness and sometimes it flows. As you can tell, i am helplessly romantic.

gracias for the reply and reading.

i read and melted but being hopelessly romantic, wanted to see the first response from your belighted beloved.

ah, the sweet embrace of intimacy

('belighted' meaning doused in light - not sure if the dictionary agrees with me)

ah...that was belightful dear ju.

He read it but the response was in the moment. ( i Love in the moment moments!) No written response yet...i am sure it will come. Hah!

(I have my own dictionary. 'Oddnoxious' was a recent addition applied to Yogi ((one of the canines in the casa)). 'beadicisms' ...that is one too.)

Write at you next week!

...my hopeless romatic tends to identify ideas waterbrushed in streams of consciousness that may or may not flow as the most profound haikus....

I suppose I could have highlighted the entire poem but I so loved these lines.
