When I'm there-- hard to say, at times-- but to the best of my recollection, yes....

Maybe one day I can back track to the four corners intersection of rte 58 and 395, and I will not turn left on 58 towards bakersfield. I will continue north on 395 to the holy land

That first one reminds me of a scene from "Easy Rider" where Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda have to spend the night and next morning Peter is looking over the surroundings. That old car sure looks like the same one from the movie. Wow that would be something if that place was the same place used in the movie!!!! The holy land is a state of mind!!!!

Nothing campy about these shots!
oh, except for the large stones atop the old gangster sedan
that was bought at auction from the cops
by the old prospector so he could give his mule a ride.

Good morning Jim. I think that picture is the one I like the best. It reminds me of:

Modern Ruins pics on the site below.

I suppose the holy land is a state of mind, but it is also the name of this planet. It is all holy ground.

I am nothing if not idealistic. I have not had the experience of seeing the earth from the moon. Until then I have no experimental data, just faith in the men who have. Blessed are the unseeing believing.

twenty three minutes until I "clock in" to my real play time. selling paper clips, beautiful morning cool overcast, and I will probably be late again. Those clouds looked too real, almost an oceanic feeling, which is what it is, an ocean of air.

By the way I am trying to scrape up ten million dollars to buy a seat on the next space ship out of here. I am selling my soul on studio eight cheap. send to donations to >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Fish And Whistle
©John Prine

I been thinking lately about the people I meet
The carwash on the corner and the hole in the street
The way my ankles hurt with shoes on my feet
And I'm wondering if I'm gonna see tomorrow.
Image
Father forgive us for what we must do
You forgive us we'll forgive you
We'll forgive each other till we both turn blue
Then we'll whistle and go fishing in heaven.
Image
I was in the army but I never dug a trench
I used to bust my knuckles on a monkey wrench
Then I'd go to town and drink and give the girls a pinch
But I don't think they ever even noticed me.
Image
Fish and whistle, whistle and fish
Eat everything that they put on your dish
And when we get through we'll make a big wish
That we never have to do this again again? again????
Image
On my very first job I said thank you and please
They made me scrub a parking lot down on my knees
Then I got fired for being scared of bees
And they only give me fifty cents an hour.

Not one to judge but I cant even wonder at the SUV's with the yellow support our troops decals.
Your flag decals wont get you into heaven anymore.
"Daddy wont you take me back to Muhllenberg County, down the green river where paradise lay. I am sorry my son you are too late in asking. Mr Peabody's coal train has hauled it away"

from memory, I always seem to have one his tunes running through my radio. quoted from memory

dam dam late for work again.
