Studio 8 Quote of the Week

Post by judih » May 24th, 2006, 12:49 pm

This week's winner in my humble estimation is the following:
my ribs are very fragile, they must be about the consistency of a rice crispy
I know I heard them go snap, crackle and pop when I landed on my desk....
L-Rod from Hester's thread "Fuck if I know anything"
http://www.studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7120

That's simply something that's been making me smile in empathy a few times this week. Please feel free to offer any quotes that have stuck with you.

The Quote of the Week is a non-competitive, vote more than once, non-institution.

I could begin by telling you of my history or heritage, but nay, I will begin with hell.
Rat Bag 5/23/06 Rejection Slip

I been an aspiring writer for over thirty years. I have made a thousand false starts on my journey. For some reason I found rat bag's post vert helpful. Time will tell I suppose.

Another line I liked was "...having a flair for the obvious." From a post of mine taken from The American Scholar Spring 2003

Natalie Angier, I envy her wit.

Can I quote myself or is that too vain?

Well deb, I am honored (and surprised).

Personally, I started to warm up to, "... what anne coulter needs is about a billion people knocking down his door shouting CUNT CUNT CUNT and then stabbing him in the eye with a gigantic sharpened pink dildo, and then ramming a silver cross into his man-chest".... by firsty. I can't argue with that. Not really.

Gypsyjoker, in his reply to my inner jam thing (dante's inferno, ADHD and self-flagellation)
Suburbia is where they cut down all the trees and name streets after them.
couldn't have found a better description.
Don't know if this is original, but the good gypsyjoker said it.

edit: Gypsyjoker found this gem on a bumper sticker.

Thanks Gypsyj for bringing it here,

Dang me they ought to take a rope and hang me. It was a bumber sticker. I hope I at least remembered to put quotes around it.
