I'm painting a royal blue tree. The sun is in the sky and is smiling. There is a crescent moon sleeping, cradled in the bow of the tree. It is either daybreak or sunset. Beneath the blue tree are tall blades of grass and a small body of water.

Clay said, "So, what are you trying to do, make it look realistic?"

I said, "Well, of course! Trees are blue, aren't they? And the moon sleeps in the bough of a tree while the sun is out."

Yes. Trees are blue. At certain times.

Bright royal blue? The trunks and branches?
