always he had sung

Post by panta rhei » November 24th, 2004, 6:07 am

always
always he had listened
to the naked wind
to the vehement silence
along stark cold walls

always
he had longed
for a room filled
with odes and sonatas
for shadows embracing each other
in front of a mirror
gone blind

always he had sung

now
upon their return
shepherds
find his breath
at peace
in a thornbush

a thorn pulled from a tender sole
spirit rushed freedom
a step out of time

white out

a mirror gone blind
a silenced melody
at one time

foot steps crunch
on snow
and fade

a whiteout

whiteout
on free soles

the whitethorn sheltering
a liberated soul

then I stumbled across litkicks
and that has made all the difference

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. there's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us: it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others?"

--Nelson Mandela, President of South Africa, in his 1994 inaugural speech

peace this morning
all silence, except
for pitter-patter of
the rain, the cat &
dog sit listening as
if in a trance, meditation
complete, I see not the
white, no I see a powder
blue..................
