THREATENING IRAN

For those of you who may not have read it, here ( below) is a link to Col. Scott Ritter and Seymour Hersh's Dec. 21st conversation on the U.S. plans to threaten ( already accomplished now in mid-January of the new year) and, in their view, eventually invade and bomb Iran. "Regime change", one of the keenest "ideas" held dear by the Project for the New American Century, the Bush Administration, The Heritage Foundation, Neocon "theorists" and others, appears to these analysts as a plan for the near future.

I'm not entirely convinced, personally, even though I have learned a good deal from and respect both Hersh ( who broke the original My Lai Massacre story in the 60's) and Ritter, fine and fearless writers. Greg Palast has a separate theory about Saudis and all the oil which also sounds very plausible and doesn't involve war with Iran.

I do like Palast's acronymous U.S. military operation title, however:

Operation Iraq Liberation ( O.I.L.)
