It«s all about action , reaction.
Saw that pastel drawing and thought ; oil on canvas.
It«s like action poetry but with visual art.
Happy you like it . A-one :D

P.S.: Glorious A , what«s a wang dang doodle? :?

Ahhh ... ! You did post it to this thread! And it looks much better here than on the email, too. I like it even better than I did.

a lovely "lawless" composite, lawless.

Nevertheless, they obey all the "laws" of self-portraiture.

(of which, of course, there aren't any . . .)

Really terrific, spontaneous and lively work.

hi sherry,

thank you - it's been a long time since i painted that one, so i can't quite remember how long it took me.... but i know that i had this one (and other paintings that i was doing simultaneously at that time) standing on the aisle (my 'aisle' was a pile of wooden boxes back then) for many days (weeks?), and continued to work on it daily, adding layer for layer, shadow for shadow, light for light.

i lived in a small appartment in a painter's widows's house back then, and always painted in the sunny kitchen.... occasionally, i took a break to make some pudding (it was always pudding), or was interrupted by the painter's widow who came upstairs and brought me some paint and brushes of her deceased husband, together with some hope for company....

these are all so wonderful

this thread is a gallery in itself

I would love to see it go on for pages

since I am graphically challenged

I don't have any self-portraits

but I'm going to cheat and put up some portraits others have done of me.
