Nazi officers "not knowing" about the camps stretches credibility, don't you think?
And I fail to see how touting one massively genocidal regime, which is essentially what you've done here IMO, is somehow justified by pointing out that other such horrific regimes on a par with it (or nearly so) have also existed.
But then, I suppose you don't have to justify anything to me. Do your thing, man.
Bush's blue blooded nazi history
No. It's a fairly common situation during warfare. Even in WWI, there were Germans convinced everything was going well, they were doing the right thing, etc., but did not know that Ludendorff and other officers had, via trench warfare, more or less turned 1000s of infantrymen into beef steak tartar. If communications were f-ed up, you might not know.Nazi officers "not knowing" about the camps stretches credibility, don't you think?
I don't think that excuses anyone who supported the fascists completely, but it is relevant. Heidegger, from what I have heard, claimed that he did not know of the camps until late in WWII. And even at that stage, Germans might not have known the extent of the camps. There are reports that some of the german officers did not know the full extent, but some may have lied. Either way, millions of germans were killed during the war. And the Allies themselves held to a scorched earth policy as well, as the bombing of Dresden demonstrates.

What is strange is that I have seen that information many times firsty. You will find it on a lot of 911 conspiracy sites. What is even stranger is that many of those sites have neo Nazi sympathies.
I suppose the difference between Stalin's genocide and H*tler's is more qualitative than quantitative. The soviets were profligate with theirs. They did not recycle. Not hair, gold teeth, body fats, skin, medical research...
Hell they did not even undress the victims and recycle clothes, eyeglasses, and god knows what else. How do me know, the N*zi's kept meticulous records. The phrase “the banality of evil" always taken out of context. Hannah said that hell is not a place of sulfurous fumes but more like a nasty business office.
screw it.
I need a forty foot ketch, I need to sail off into a sunrise. Sail off the edge of my mind.
