Dear Hillary

Post by joel » September 5th, 2007, 3:17 pm

Dear Hillary, my winked endorsement speeds
to you. Your imperfections undenied,
you’re still my greatest hope these days—and seem
to, yes, possess those skills that might present
new precedence. You’re only human though—
they’re often ugly tyrants: dynasties.

I’ve faith enough to vote a human in
to office; never’s the messiah been
a candidate who’s sought my sympathies,
my vote’s support—and no messiah, no
heroic superhuman’s yet been sent
to try—no stainless steal or glossy gleam
do I expect from you. My faith’s applied
to trust, to hope—and hope and trust it needs.

Eleanor, the would('ve)-be(en) President Roosevelt III...

Well, we've had:
Adams I and Adams II
Harrison I and Harrison II
Roosevelt I and Roosevelt II
Bush I and Bush II

why not Clinton I and Clinton II?
...

But I do fear the dynasties. Viable freshness would be nice. A candidate to believe in, yeah, it would be nice. I think Hill can get the job done on the Hill...but I'm still new to this electing presidents...and I'm a miserable idealist. I was hoping with voting that this third time would be a charm....

Where's King Arthur when you want him? Or Joan of Arc? Legends and martyrs--and we'd rather elect those who take our kids/peers and try to make them legends and martyrs (but I look at the lists of dead soldiers and civilians and I just wasted victims...honorable folks, no doubt, but victims of the deathsquads that we put into power). I don't like being a murderer.

I watched her Letterman the other night
Such a small woman
I would vote for her just because she is a woman
Does that make me a sexist
I did not read your poem as closely as I should
I don't like Hillary's vote for the war
I don't like Edwards eathir there is not one got dam one of them running besides Obama and Kucinich that did not vote for the war
Hillary got blood on her hands
But she don't seem to have it on her conscience
But I would vote for her just because she is a woman
I am sick of men
I am sick of Patriarchial religions
Joan of Arc is crispy critter
We don't need a warrior queen

Dynasties
Don't bother me
The Catholic Church Does
I got sister in law
I call her Diamond Lil
She converted to Catholicism
I don't make jokes about the Pope to her
She is a wonderful woman
The woman in my family put her so much crap because she was not a Jewess and in mother's dying hour it was Diamond Lil that nursed her through to the good death.
I would walk through hell on sunday for Diamond Lil
just because of that.
She spent a lot of time with the dying

It gives a person good far vision to work with the dying
Mother Teresa I have not read the new revelations about her by the church. THe silence does not bother me when I speak to G*d. I prefer it actually.
Garrison Kielor makes jokes about Lutherans being sheep
But I think we are all

I was born under FDR Second term
They say it was a bad precedent four terms
I dont know
I would vote for Chelsea if I got the chance
I hope I live long enough for that
I am a pacifist Joel
Violence is my first nature
I hear a lot of bravado
from the dick heads
You know joel a guy threatened to kick another guys ass here
I don't know if he was joking
I have never threatened anyone
I would never threaten anyone
I suppose I am too much of a coward
I would just come up behind them with a baseball bat.
It's my way
That is why I joined the Quakers

I read this thing about women cops wearing men's underwear so they could feel like they had more balls for the job.

Do you think Hillary wears mens underwear.

I am tired of men
I am tired of priests
But most of all I am tired of that mighty smighty God of the Hebrew children.

But I love Spinozas God,
so sue me
I contradict myself.

You make poetry Joel
it is a wonderful gift you give
I make nonsense
it is my speciality
I am God's own fool

Why do we need preachers and priests anymore
Everybody and their brother has been saved
I tried reading Kierkegaard
But he was too hard for me

Maybe it is time to try agian

I need to sit on my hands for a while
too much pot
it makes a typing fool out of me
I am sick of my vanity
I need to shut the fuck up

pretty sorry about the sloppy writing
too tired to fix it.
I hope the hell this is my last post for a while

No more holy lands
No more holy wars
No more no more no more
Religion is wired into us
God save us from the improvers of mankind
with their black boxes.

Where is B F Skinner when we need him.

Isn't that what we need to hear from preachers: "Everybody and their brother has been saved"?

Yes George W Bush is saved
Born again
He knows Jesus pretty good
We can pick up our weapons and go home
the world is safe for democracy again
Our president of good and evil has saved us from ourselves.
FDR four terms but he was cool with my family
Well somebody told us wall street fell
But we were so poor that we couldnt tell.
Cotton was short and the weeds were tall
But mr. roosevelts a gonna save us all.

Did you see this bit by mnaz
on poets eye
Heard a show the other day... is Dubya really as much of a dupe, or a puppet as he appears to be? Perhaps. Or perhaps God really does whisper in his ear... "you are the one I've chosen to bring my gift of freedom to the world"... and he becomes the forceful, courageous decider, even as he perhaps unwittingly thus participates in all manner of unchecked corporate greed and aggression, Xtian last-days rapturism, Zionism, and God knows what other isms (pun intended)...
