NEW DOD PROGRAM PLANS UNCONVENTIONAL TACTICS

It sounds like A sci-fi horro movie. But experts say, it's a reality. A top-secret Defense program is researching the viability of deploying, what inside sources describe as, a "zombie force."

Researchers are developing a highly-classified chemical substance, the effects of which on its test subjects range from a reduced fear of battle to an elimination of moral objections against killing and, in the extreme, cannibalism, experts say.

"The aim is to create a soldier who is unafraid of distractors in the battlefield environment, especially in unfamiliar terrain and amongst hostile local communities," an defense expert said, on condition of anonymity.

But critics are concerned with the program. "This is an outrage," declared Executive Director Tony Bloen of the nonprofit group Future Watch. "The military is trying to create a monster. What do we want -- an army of zombies?"

Other concerns raised include whether the substance will be used as an offensive weapon. "What happens if [the US] starts spraying it on civilians, effecting turning a population deemed to be an enemy into cannibals.?" Bloen asked.

Sources claim, however, that it will be years before the chemical is ready for use.
