What type of work do you do, 'truckin? Just curious. I've known you for many years but you never mentioned your work (or if you did, I missed it). How can you live on $17 a week? $17 an hour, 40 hours a week, is considered near poverty level in the DC area. Crazy, I know but one bedroom apartments are renting for $1500 in DC. Can't even qualify to live there making $17 an hour working full time. We have a lot of people living on the streets in DC. Only in America, right? geesh. What's the minimum wage? Still $5.50 an hour or something? How do people survive on that? I don't get it. It's so sad. I think the minimum wage has been the same for at least 20 years. Probably longer. This is a different topic and I don't want to turn this thread into a chat room so I'll just finish my post by telling you that if you are indeed indigent, I will somehow get you a copy.

It ain't easy being green
Doreen

I am doing just fine

I will send the money when I got it
I don't need your charity

I work for the Rosewater Foundation
I answer the phones for those infomercials
I work from home
I am guaranteed minumum wage
but sometimes I can make up to ten bucks an hour
I make my own hours
work when I want.

I sell penis externders to men
and eternal youth to women

I am retired doreen
I am on social security
and every month I expect social security to send me an IOU
I work just to pick up a few bucks when I need something besides food and shelter.

Last year I made about ten grand
Living very comfortably on that
I live in seniour housing section eight low rent

Time is money
These are my golden years
I sell as little of my time as I have to.
I am busy here.

What makes me sad is the Forever War. A sci fi novel about a vietnam vet who travelled at the speed of light. You know the bit about the speed of light and time? He come home after 15 months in the war zone and back in america a hundred years had gone by.

Kind of like what is happening o many soldiers coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. THeir jobs are gone, their car repossesed, their homes foreclosed. Yes the ecconomy is fundamentally sound aint it.

yes I am old
but I am happy

Did I answer all your questions?

My mama loved me
cause I was honest to a fault
but I was not her favorite son
just her baby boy

I must have made about a hundred posts here on The Rosewater foundation I will try to find them and put them in one long thread so you can read them if you are still curious

By the way
Rosewater Foundation ripped off from Vonnegut novel
God Bless You Mr Rosewater
about a world war two vet who heard "the click"

I'm not asking you to send me money. I don't want your money. I'm not selling the book.

CafePress is selling the book, not me.

I have told others who have work represented in the book the same thing. It's not charity to offer to buy the book for someone who can't afford it.

You posted this on your previous post
I made 17 dollars this week. I am self employed and my boss is so lazy.
My mother always said I am a ner do well.
That's why I thought you were self-employed. Because you said you were self-employed. That's why I asked what you did for a living.

Please let's stop chatting with each other on this thread. This thread is for announcing and talking about the book. Let's keep it to a discussion about the book itself from here on out, OK? If you want to keep talking about other topics, let's do it by private message or on another thread set up for chat.

My apologies for chatting here with you about other topics. My bad.

I didn't see your posts about the Rosewater Foundation. I used to work for Purple Heart and also for United Support Against Multiple Sclerosis making phone calls from my home. Sorry I was posting the same time as you and I didn't see the info you posted about your work for the Rosewater Foundation in the previous post. :( I'm feeling rather embarrassed. .The internet moves too fast for me. I can't keep up. I'm not familiar with the Rosewater Foundation but it sounds like good positive charity work. Good for you!

Onward.

I miss firsty doreen. I was trying my hand at metafiction. Firsty does it so well.

It is no charity I work for Doreen. It is a teleservices company. But it is not called the Rosewater foundation. When you see those info-commercials on TV with an 800 # it is people like me who answer the phone.

We handle so many different commercials we never know which one the caller is calling for. So we give a generic greeting that goes like this:

"This is Jack, how may I help you?

In the vonnegut novel God Bless You Mr. Rosewater, the Rosewater foundation is started by Eliot Rosewater as a charitible foundation to help the people of Rosewater County Indiana.

He answers the phone like this.

"Rosewater Foundation, How can we help you?"

The people who call in are desperate, poor, and all alone. Diana Moon Glampers calls in when she is frightened by lightning.

I hope that clears it up a little.

I think I am ready to get serious about what ever I have been trying to write for the past 35 years. Not too serious I hope.

Going to take a hiatus and work on it.

Be back when I have something worth reading.

Not too long I hope.

And ask them to write reviews.

Now, I have to figure out how to get it up on Amazon. Hmmm... There is a way.. i know it!

That's too bad. I have no idea what you don't understand. But I appreciate your honesty.
